Hang in there, girl. So far so good. I have a vivid image of you near the candles sniffing them with relief. Such anxiety in this post and relief that you can still taste the great dinner. Thinking about you.

I am sure you'll be able to enjoy the leftovers.. The sense of smell is supposed to come back after about 20 days .
Hope your daughter is fine now. what about her sense of smell and taste?

Hey,

I know you don't want a review but I figured I would let you know that you missed the 'c' in distinctive. I know you don't want to have that hanging out there like that but I don't know if anyone would have pointed it out yet.

Get well soon,
Nick G

Thanks! You will now see the "c"--good thing I like the aroma of maple-- I find the scent of vanilla candles diSTINKtive.

Hey Liz,
I liked the title- The Last Supper? Hilarious. I'm glad you were able to enjoy another meal. Perhaps Corona can provide us with some good points to remember- like what a blessing it is to smell and taste, and how great it is to be able to go where you want to without restrictions. So often it's only when we no longer have the things we take for granted and enjoy that we truly appreciate them. Hope you and Lauren are on the mend and will be able to fully enjoy all that life offers.
Have a blessed evening gal.

Tom

Day 5--so far, senses intact! Relishing the leftovers.

I'd hoped I was imagining it! Then, it occurred to me that I'd become acclimated to the scent, but at that point, I'd just awoken and hadn't been hugging it as I slept. Since it isn't lit, the scent has only ever been noticable with my nose in the jar! Once I blew my nose, all was well!

I know we do not have to comment, but we are interested in how you are doing and coping with the virus. Hopefully, you and Lauren will not have any after effects.
Take care,
Regards,
Mary

I am glad Chuck brought by your favorite meal and you were able to enjoy eating it. I know you said we didn't need to review, but I wanted you to know I am praying and I thank you for the update.

Keep the crab out of my enchiladas! I'm not into candles, but I have found that with age my sense of smell has diminished, so I know what it's like. I can vaguely smell perfume if I put my nose right on it. Hope you find enough to keep you occupied for the rest of the time you're serving. judi

Stop worrying before you make it happen. If you have the same smell flooding the room for hours or days, you will always get used to the smell, even the bad smells lessen. But with that said, I'm glad your taste buds and smeller is still working. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! That Chuck is looking right after you, eh, Liz? I'm so glad to hear you're battling through this virus, and able to eat ..."crab enchiladas with a side of sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms". It sounds delicious!!! Holy Cow! It doesn't sound like your sense of smell and taste has disappeared yet. And that's super!
I love seafood! But my wife and kids don't. So I rarely get to enjoy it. The only one who will share the experience is Leslie, Luke's wife. I've got 2 bags of scallops and 2 bags of lobster claws in the freezer... saving them for a Christmas treat! I got them for my 71st birthday in October.
Anyway, I'm continuing to pray for you, Liz. You'll get through this thing. You're tough. Resilient. Gritty. Determined. Indestructible.
Thanks for sharing, even while you're laid up.

Big Hugs,
Kimbob

If you keep expected to lose your taste and smell you going end up talking your brain into manifesting that symptom. It sounds like Chuck knew the best way to keep that from happening.
