This made me laugh out loud and show my husband. Sometimes humor poetry is so=so funny and not rhymed well. Your poem rhymes well, has a steady beat, is illustrated with the punch line...an interesting and effective method. Well done!

Lol - I loved this! That twist on the end was perfect. Here we are thinking she's planting tulips. A great nonsense poem that may not be all that nonsensical...If that garden of hers grows profusely, we'll know who's fertilizing the greenery.

I was waiting for a surprise ending but there was no surprise at all! The humor was a little off yet I found myself enjoying it anyway. I love the artwork it is so fitting! And the message of working it out with your spouse is oh so right on! Haha, I will surely be more careful around my wife when she is working in her garden!
Take good care of yourself and don't let your spouse plant you in your grave!!

Hi, Jesse! I'm so glad you enjoyed my New Hobby! Great fun to write as the poem was inspired by the photo of the dug plot... Our kids have gotten lots of laughs from it and my hubby of 52 years got a few chuckles himself (although I think he still sleeps with "one eye open..." just in case! LOL! The only thing that potentially has an extra beat is this line: *And took up gardening in our yard* - but if you just read *gardening* as two syllables, with a New England, it still fits as a douple - and if not a triplet on the beat is also cool. Definitely nonsense! LOL! My hubby got a great kick out of it as I wrote it as if he had written it - our kids couldn't stop laughing, so I thought it would be a good write to enter in the contest here... Thank you once again for the wonderful review and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
