This immediately will capture the reader's attention. It is such a strong imagery. Sadly, there may be readers who can identify with this image: " Images of the dark and unctuous Mekong night drained from his mind and slid between the headboard and mattress, where it gathered into an insidious pool that lurked beneath their bed."
Great metaphors and similes. I want to spend more time on this. It is late. So still asking for previous chapters. This is excellent.

Hello Liz. Thank you for the review. I am encouraged with your desire to read more. I am a little confused (doesn't take much) there are no previous chapters. What you read is Chapter 1 of Concertina. Chapter 2 had been posted and Chapter 3 will be posted today. I hope you read them. Rad.
