What a most interesting life you have lived, K. Your resilience in the face of daunting tasks has always pulled you through.

There is enough material here to write a magnificent memoir if that is your interest.

I can imagine some of the psychiatric patients would make a person feel unsafe, especially with a knife, even though it was used to shuck oysters from rocks.

This is very well written and a fine entry into this contest.

Wishing you great luck with the luck with the Committee. :))

Hello Gloria, Thanks so much for taking the time to read. Yes, I have had an interesting life. Now I'm chair-bound but I still go swimming in a heated pool. I have carers take me out twice a week and I am happy that one carer is taking me to Mass on Christmas Eve (even tho' I'm not a Catholic) Hee, Hee. Love, Kay xx PS:I have also had the gift of a new rescue dog. I'm training Benny to walk with my electric chair. He was found wandering the streets, so skinny. A gift from god I feel, he never leaves my side. :-)

Your story is encouraging and I admire your strength and faith to keep going and challenge yourself. I am a big fan of memoirs, I read mostly memoirs and I feel your story here is well written and holds the reader's interest. I do encourage you to think about writing a book about your life. You have had an interesting life and I like the variety of jobs you have held. Your story also shows how healing the arts can be.

Hi Elaine, Thanks so much for reading, glad this interested you. I couldn't write a book my friend; because of arthritis, I can only type for one hour a day. Thanks for the thoughts. Love, K xx

Wow Kay, what a life you have had. I have always said if you look outside yourself there is always someone worse off. You have certainly lived a life on your terms. Thanks for sharing your story, I enjoyed the read and wish you luck in the contest. Cheers

I think this is an awesome posting, Kay. Your life has been so interesting by way of being helpful to others, tackling difficult situations--and yet having the courage to adapt and share your perceptions and feelings in a positive way. You are a wonderful example of perseverance and having faith in our Eternal God. For me, this is an especially meaningful part of your posting: When I am in pain, I pray for those in worse pain.
Forever hugs and blessings, Janet

What a beautiful story about triumph over tribulations. It is amazing how you kept returning to those most in need. You have led an incredible life so far, and I am sure that you will continue to do so for some time to come.

You did a great job, Aussie, with your contest entry. I feel I know a bit more about you. Through it all, you displayed your strength and perseverance even in the face of hardship. I like the parts where you taught art. You have done well for yourself.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Definitely good luck wishes for you in the Share Your Story contest, Kay. The picture was one of beauty because it was of you in your wheelchair. What you wrote was that of a fantastic life with a purpose. I admire your foundation, your years of faith is admirable. Very well done and greatly enjoyed.

Hi Kace, when I read about you working in
the design studio...the first thing that came
to my mind my wonderful sweet friend...was you
are an artist...and that's where it all started...

you truly did have a full life sweet girl...and
I'm so sorry you had the accident...but thank God
you were able to get back up...and make a good life for yourself...you have been blessed with an arts and crafts
talent...I wish I were...went from my mother...jumped over me...and to my daughter...and then my granddaughter...go figure...

I thank God Kace for all the friends I have met on
FanStory...and you are one of my best...I so wish we could meet somewhere...sigh...

I hope you and Benny are doing well...I have been tied up
with a friend of mine ( John)...he just lost his dog (Murtle)...she was all he had...and went with him everywhere...so he has been coming over more...I told him...it will just take time...I miss her as well...

I loved reading your life story told...and love this picture...priceless...very well written...and I wish you
luck in the contest...sending much love from overseas...

Hello my very best friend. Thanks for reading. I was in two minds whether to open the door on my life. I am a very private person. All's well. We are in La Nina which means loads of rain. Every day in fact. Lots of flooding and no respite in sight. I wish we could meet and greet too. Much love, Kace & Benny xx

Your card should be getting close to Sandwich. Takes so long. I write to Sandra and her card in England takes two weeks! Oh, well. Go shut yourself in the loo and finish your cards. Hee, Hee.

This my winner, for you are my champion Aussie. Yes, everyone has a life story, but to each his own, and when a life is admired and cherished by a stranger, then it is giving both ways.
Well done my friend, you say it like it is. When feeling sorry for oneself, there are always those worse off, so the key is , like you said, join the human race, and fight the demons, never give up.

Survivors will fight on...hence the name...for I know.
Bravo...only these five stars I have, but know well, I will be voting for this.

Have a good day.
Best wishes.
RG
