Wow. This poem grabbed me because no human should feel this way, but I know many who do. The artistry of the message you are delivering is amazing. As if the artistry wasn't enough, you penned a poem that is dramatic and powerful. Great job on this. This poem, I will remember!

Very powerful. I'm not usually a fan of short-form poetry, but this one hits different. I know many people who suffer from various labels given to them, and it's important to remember that these conditions present themselves differently in different people, everyone is an individual. Very well done, good message.

This is a great entry for the six word contest.
Persons struggling alone with mental health issues need our help. Sadly it is an illness that does not easily show itself to others.
Good luck in the contest .
Best

It is certainly difficult to make any comment on a six-word poem. Certainly something like "this is a bit wordy" would not be apropos! Actually you have used just the right amount of words to say that a person who is mentally ill carries his/her illness like a tattoo, in that once it is known, they are feared, and sadly dispised.

Well said, well written for the contest. People shy away with those with mental illness. I think because they can't see it, it doesn't exist. At some time in one's life we are likely to experience a mental breakdown. There are so many maladies attached to the words Mental Health. Little understood in many cases, by Dr's. Welcome to Fanstory, I have been here for eleven years! Blessings, K xx

Hi Opal,
Glad to meet you!
I am impressed by your haiku for the contest. In so few words, you have uttered a truth so overlooked today in the culture that defines every ill known to man as though it should be stamped on one's forehead!
You are so correct in that whatever medical term has been given to the diagnosis, that should not define who a person is. Unless of course they wish to paste that post-it note every time they shake a person's hand lol
Good luck to you in the contest, Opal :))
Always,
Senyai

Mental health certainly does matter and the internet world today makes it easier for people to be victimised. Any long-term illness requires help and support. You say a lot in your 8 words. Good luck in the contest.

This is an extremely clever little poem. The line end rhymes are very attractive in this context and enhance the poem considerably. I wish you all good luck in the contest.

Wow, your picture said as much as your words!
Disadvantaged people do suffer from the comments of others, it is hardest on those who hear it from their peers.
We have two of those persons in our small community, and to their credit, they both hold jobs; one is a cashier at a local Family Dollar Store, the other washes dishes at a restaurant.
Your poem resonated.
Cheers, irish

Sad, isn't it. And yet, many experts believe that as many as 75% of Americans suffer from PTSD, a mental disorder. The encouraging thing is that the movement is now away from a stigma.
The poem packs a punch and it does it in less than less than 8 words.
Well done!
Blessings,
Deb
