So sad, but true. There should not be any stigma attached to any illness - especially mental illness. A little empathy goes a long way. And social media these days fosters so much misinformation - we need to get the facts before judging. You have provided much food for thought in just a few words.

This is different, I like it. Mental illness has ripped through my family and took my mother away when she was just 56. There is a definite stigma and kudos to you for speaking your voice.

Excellent. You are sending readers a great message with this short poem. The attached artwork is spectacular and adds much to the writing. Mental illness is often misunderstood and people suffer because of that. You should do great in the contest.

You say so much with very few words. And the rhymes are excellent as well. The words in the image also adds to your message. Welcome to FanStory and good luck with the contest!

What an incredibly powerful poem. Mental illness has touched a number of members of my family and, while it's hard to deal with, it's not their fault. So yes, I agree, we need to end the stigmata. You don't blame someone for having the flu, so why hold a different type of illness against them?
I love that you managed to include message, rhythm and rhyme in only six words.

This eight-word poem, Muddled Mental Malady, has the required word count and notes the branding and ostracizing of people with mental defect. Mental illness is finally being looked at closer as everyone is apt to suffer with some level of it.

I don't know how it would be possible to send a more powerful message than yours in just a few words! Yes, the mentally ill are often misjudged, even feared, sometimes without proper reason. I understand that things used to be much worse.

So much said in so few words. The picture aptly supports your poem, graphically mirroring your thoughts. I agree that there is still a considerable attitude towards people with mental illnesses. Thankyou for sharing. Franky

Quite nicely done. It's hard to be poetic and thought-provoking in eight words or less, but you accomplished it. Well done.
Best of luck in the voting.
Peace, Lee
