Beautifully written Roy, and sadly the battles continue still with more young men and women losing their lives but also for those that return they too have their battles. Well told.
Cheers

This is a heartfelt remembrance poem for all the young men and women who have died in war. It also reminds us of the pain of the parents and families of those lost. We do all hope that wars will end and no more blood will be shed.
The artwork is interesting in that it looks like both soldiers are bleeding.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

A beautiful and haunting tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to preserve and protect their country in times of war and served honorably.
My grandmother was a Gold Star mom after losing her 21-year-old son in the Canadian Army in WWII. My dad joined on hearing of his brother's death. Lucky he survived the D-Day invasion.
Well done my friend,
Blessings,
Mary

This is a lovely verse to read on this Armistice/Veterans Day. Your deep and heartfelt lines draw a sympathetic response from me to stop a moment and reflect. My Hubby is a veteran and I am just happy he survived his exposure to war (First Gulf War) he flew helicopters in Iraq and Kuwait. Thank you for honoring them.

Thank you for sharing this poem about the brave men and women who sacrificed and dedicated themselves to fighting for freedom. How much we owe them Like you say, the families of those who gave their lives, deserve our gratitude.

This is a thought-provoking poem for Veteran's Day/Remembrance Day, Roy. I appreciate that our older veterans, most of whom have passed, risked their lives to protect us from the evil that tried to steal our countries. But I'm more concerned about all the ones who still lose their limbs or lives in modern wars around the world, and I wonder why. Well done.

A very good poem for remembrance day or Veterans Day in the U.S. The history lesson you provide in your notes are good too, I did not know all that. I remember in the 1960's a commentary on the Viet Nam War that Paul Harvey did on his radio show about stop taking the youth for war, take us old guys he said. His point was it would do two things, save the youth, and stop war. Thank You. Good job.

Definitely an interesting picture Roy and your poem had a great rhyming pattern to it. Your words were definite proof that lives were lost and those who managed to return were either missing a part or their mind. I loved your narrative note, indeed they should never be forgotten. Very well done and sadly enjoyed. It is now 10:15 here on 11/11/2021 and they will be remembered. Blessings.
