Ahhh, Titanic, a classic movie for sure. Some good music came out of that. I loved what you did here, snobbery on a damned ship. I don't know how accurate the portrayal was of the actual event, but it made for a good movie for sure. Well done on your haiku.

I like the embedded rhymes in the first and third lines and the 5-7-5 format you chose to use. The critical tone of the first two lines is smoothed out by the softer tone of the third ... optimism following pessimism. I enjoyed reading this poem.
