This story had a happy ending because she came to her senses and didn't hurt anyone and her conscience wouldn't let her ruin the mistress' home. I bet after finding out the only thing in the container was soup instructions, she probably wished she had done something at her house.

A wonderfully rendered story with lots of detail, personality, and a witty ending. The opening sentence is so well constructed, diving right into the action. There is only one other contest entry that I thought was on the level this one was, and though I voted for that one in the contest for its clever revenge punchline, this one is getting my six rating. And now I need to look up this soup recipe. Nice work!
