That sugary delight with a hot chocolate (I am not a coffee drinker) is a great N'Awlins memory. You captured the essence of that place in a few words. We did not have rain on that occasion.
IMHO your presentation value to other FS reviewers will be enhanced if you increase your font size (to 20-22?). Consider making all text in lower case. For these short poems, capitalization is not essential.

This sounds like a break up poem or a poem of mourning. Rain is tears and coffe and beignets are comfort foods.

No breakup or mourning. The rain gives us an excuse to sit under an umbrella and have a lil coffee and beignet break. You know, stop walking in the rain...

I don't think you need a reason for a coffee and beignet break. It is good for the soul in any weather. The rain does give you a reason for not feeling guilty when you stop.
