A beautifully crafted poem accompanied by a lovely painting of the flower. That alluring scent and lovely petals of the rose are loved by many, but there is a pain in beauty at times, and the rose is proof of it. Well done! Thanks for sharing!

I like this short piece, termed as a modern haiku.
Its format of 7-4-7-3 is new to me as a modern haiku but you have
written this well. It describes how the lure of a perfect rose can really
have a prickly effect for the admirer. Ouch! I enjoyed this nice poem.

Oh yes indeed we really should remember that the rose, though one of the most beautiful adornments of creation, has indeed thorns, reminding us that that beauty has a metaphoric attraction and yet danger. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
