Smiling big here. My ten-year-old, Maxwell gets excited about planting seeds and such. Unfortunately, he is heartbroken when blossoms don't appear overnight! In the virtual world of internet games, he has everything as he presses a button or flicks his wrist. I'm trying to teach him patience...and he's trying to test mine!

We enjoy the joys when children experience something new for the first time and we relive our childhood in that moment, I enjoyed the sentiment here, a well composed Sedona, love Dolly x

I like the format of this Sedoka, and the final line encapsulates the thought that seeing with the fresh eyes and curiosity of a child is an excellent way to recapture that sense of wonder in nature, that we often now just take for granted. It's interesting and thoughtful, and beautifully written.

It is spring here in NZ Gypsy so there is a lot of plant watching going on in my back yard. Tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicums, courgette and beans for now, 3 weeks in the ground and looking good thus far. Got to keep an eye out for frosts though, we still get the odd one ; ))
Unfortunately the days of my daughters helping day in the garden are long gone. Now they just love to eat it once it has been picked.

I didn't know you live in New Zealand. I would love to see it one day. For what I heard it's a beautiful country. The untamed wilderness to rich culture...sigh...

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review and feedback.

Kiwi, cute name for New Zealanders. I'm originally from Spain. In our country we say the same thing, our door is always open, also we share our meals with whoever comes by. Where were you born? How did you end up in NZ? Inquisitive minds want to know. LoL heh heh...

I was born and raised in the northeast of England- County Durham. I met Moana when I was traveling and working in Israel 30 years ago ; ) We travelled for 5 years together, settled in Holland for seven( she has Dutch parents) years. She was born in NZ though. We came here 19 years ago when our first daughter was 3 months old. There ya go, a bit of info on Hitch.
Spain is nice spend a couple of summer holidays there back in my youth.

You have a very interesting life. Thank you for sharing. I feel I know you better.

I was born in Tangier while my parents were living there for a while. I am Spanish, from Madrid. I moved to the USA when I turned 16 years ago, after been banished by my father and stepmother. I'm bipolar and relationships are hard for people like me but I have three beautiful children and three grandchildren. I think you and I are about the same age or close... in the USA we call people our age==babyboomers. I have been a teacher most of my career life and I love it.

There you go, a bit more about me.

I believe I am a generation X child, just missed the baby boomer years : ))
Wow, thank you for the blessing Gypsy, very cool : )) That must have been hard friend, being banished.
I loved/love having kids and look forward to my girls making me a grandfather one day... but not too soon. I want them to live first, see the world and experience life and other cultures ; ))
I look forward getting to know you better Gypsy. Have a great weekend, ours is upon us here in NZ and the forcast is sun, sun and more sun ; )

Your fun, and true, words pair perfectly with you cute picture, Gypsy. I enjoyed reading your sedoka. Great job with its style. I like the colored fonts set against the black background. Your message is clear, too.
Respectfully, Jan

Another fine poem, Gypsy--and I agree, if I could keep all the knowledge I've learned, otherwise, I wouldn't want to be a kid in today's messed-up world

What a cute poem about a girl scientist. The beautiful butterflies are very cute, too which can be symbols of youth. I have a Sedoka about a Crane in mind and will try to post it tonight. Crane is so Japanese.

Well done.

Yes, I've seen a lot of beautiful Japanese paintings of cranes. I bet you can find the perfect one for your sedoka.
