It is funny the things that attract our attention after a dangerous occurrence. It is like we develop a new appreciation for the small things that fill our lives. Sometimes even just the joy of a bath or cute toes.
A nice poem. It aptly portrays the relief of home after an adventure. The language is conversational and warm. The poem flows well. The images are evocative of emotions. And the end is perfect, realization of what we have on a homey level.
