Your use of personification causes the reader to invest more interest in the scene.
In case the reader has not assessed the situation, Dutton lets the reader in on the god-like perception he has of Adler. There a cautionary tale being written here with a clear sense of powerlessness on Dutton's part. There is the one liner referring to the title. It's like Catcher in the Rye. Somewhere in the middle is is mentioned that someone is a catcher in the rye, only that once. You're in good company

Hi Brett, that Adler character doesn't stop at anything, does he? You are describing this so very well. Macabre as it, I so enjoy reading in. You're really doing a very good job. So now you've left us with half a head. Ouch! And now what? Until the next part. Ulla:)))

If Dutton is always so correct why is it he hasn;'t stopped the sickko from killing so many people. It seems to me that sawing a head in half would be a lot of work and require some tools most people don't possess. I'll be relieved when Dutton ends this crime spree.

Human Design does fit into this story nicely. I'm concerned about Ballister's comment '"How can you stand always being correctamundo about Adler? All the frigging time!" & It's like the two of you are one?" It's sort of scary Dutton understands him that well. This is another good job.

This is interesting...and disturbing, Brett. But still I continue to read because I'm hooked on the story, hoping for a better outcome. :) Thanks for explaining the difference between Manifestors and Generators in your notes. Well done.

I'm thinking that you just threw us a big clue that most of us will read right through. But, since I can't be sure, I'll keep reading patiently for what comes next. I'm sure you get tired of me saying everything you write deserves a six, and then, me giving you a five. But I never have any sixes so late in the week. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

They laid (lay) there in a variety of sizes.
