So true! There's nothing we can do about tomorrow but as you say, we can plant the seeds today for what we might need tomorrow. And God holds all our days.
the morrows fight. (morrow's)
Tomorrows dream (Tomorrow's)

This might just be my favorite poem of all the ones I have read on here so far. It is so true, we tend to worry so much about tomorrow that we ruin a good today. Really great poem, thanks for sharing!

Hello Jay
I agree with you when you said in your poem
Don't worry on what the morrow brings-
Worrying is where trouble springs. And you are so right---that
we cannot have tomorrow today,
just be ready, it's on its way.

Thanks for reminding us of the pointlessness of worrying in this poem - yet we continue to carry on worrying -the final line of the poem makes it clear

The secret to happiness is to occupy yourself with the things that bring you joy. Worry is the anthesis of joy. You cannot be happy and worry at the same time. Worrying chases joy out the door. There was a sort of silly song from a few years ago that simply said, "Don't worry be happy." Great advice.

I agree with your notes 100%. Too much time is spent worrying when that time could be used for something productive. You did a great job with your well written poem. You give readers much to think about with your advice.
Respectfully, Jan

Always sage advice from your quarter, Jay. Of course to live each day as if it were one's last could be quite a task, but to not worry about it, might be just the thing. Preparation is significantly different from worry.
Keep writing and many thanks to you for sharing. :))

There is a good message here - enjoy today and don't worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow may never come. Excellent wisdom in this poem. Your final couplet provided a good closure.

I enjoyed your imagery, visuals and your command on rhyming.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom about worrying. The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

I absolutely love this one. I once heard a speaker say, "Your future you will thank you for the healthy things you do today." As your poem states, "Today is the day to plant the seeds, the seeds that your tomorrow needs."
This is another great message from the master poet. Much appreciate your words of wisdom.
