    The contest wasn't about owls it was an owl poem and my antagonist of this poem can be and often is an owl, but thank you for your review.

    You were supposed to write a poem about owls. You didn't say much about them.

    Thank you for your condemnation and wisdom. write "about owls or THE owl." Type was listed as "commentary and philosophy." Explaining it sort of defeats the purpose of art, but this is story poem about the possession by an ancient Mesopotamian creature that takes the form of a screech owl.
    "What are we doing?
    The Spirit calls out
    To me in my dreams
    THE OWL rests on sill
    After soaring on wings

    What are we doing?
    The old woman?s face
    In a pale light glows
    Through the lips of a child
    She speaks what she knows"

    Art should elicit a response for the open minded. Sorry you didn't get it. Have a nice day!
