Nice story, nice poem.
"Then as quickly as the Lord appeared.
He released the boy's hand and disappeared." - no period after 'appeared'
he's always near - period after 'near'
Best wishes.

Truly, God is always near to us. We only need to have faith and beckon on Him, and He will surely give an ear to the heart that believes. Thanks for sharing your inspiration.

This was a very sweet story/poem. I am glad that the boy discovered that Heaven is a wonderful place, but I am very glad that his grandmother was able to stay on earth a little longer. Thanks for sharing.

A very heartwarming post exhibiting the comfort the Lord can provide in the face of death and loss. I loved the dialogue between the young boy and the Lord and how it comforted him and changed his perspective.

Oh, you did a wonderful job! I remember my great-great-grandma's funeral; the mood was very similar to the vibe you get reading this poem. I just think this poem is so fantastic!

Your poem is beautiful. It paints a picture of how strong faith can still the fears and help with understanding. Your story in verse flows smoothly. I enjoyed reviewing it. The picture is a perfect compliment.

A thoughtful and encouraging poem that speaks to the heart.
The message is profound and yet in childlike faith, it is one we can all relate to.
Thank you for sharing and Happy Easter.

I knew a Willie Smith. A Latter Day Saint in Boiling Springs, SC. But you aren't him. We have small connections. Nine years in the USN; three forays with the Coasties in Alaska doing weather soundings on-board Jarvis Whec Endurance cutter. The ship that ran aground off Dutch Harbor in '71. I boarded her TAD from a Coronado detachment to Sand Island, Hi her homeport. Oh, by the way. This is a very good piece of writing.
