This is just such a beautiful, and descriptive tribute of a wonderful man, August. I hope you have shared this with his daughter. He was most definitely spared....to help spare others. Wonderful Miss Ronni, blessings...

I had not read any of his poetry, but from all the tributes I can tell it's my loss. He was a GREAT man. I need to take time to read some of his work. I am praying for his family and friends. Thank you for sharing.

    Hi dear Barbara,
Thank you for your kind thoughts and reflections on this tribute
for August. In a poetry site as huge as this is, we do not always
get to know or hear about as we wish we did or could. When
a member dies, we all wish the same, even though not possible
for us. Still this remarkable poet/writer will be dearly missed
and through his work saved on the Eternal Flame feature
    will not be forgotten either.
Appreciate your kind condolences for his family and friends.
My humble honor to have shared my contrition to his memory.
    God Bless you too!
    Best wishes, Ronni

Dear Ronni,

Thank you ever so much for writing/sharing this honorable tribute for August. An amazing writer and giving person he is/was.

I knew he had a very bad fall walking his dog about 4 years ago. I was not aware of his other injury.
In spite of that he traveled and gave to others. He always loved his wife and always stood up for those abused and less fortunate.

One of the best, if not the best free verse writers of our age.

I'll have to go back and read/review his last post. I may have missed it.

Last I heard he was traveling to help others.

Wow! I feel devastated.
Thank you for sharing and bless Amber...may she carry on the true love of her parents.

Anna

    Dear Anna,
Thank you for your thoughtful comments and appreciations
shared, especially and including his writing talent and remarkable
life, and such a unique treasure and inspiration on FS.
This could not have ever been written by me, had it not been
for the very kind and obliging help; even while still so very
much in her own grieving over losing him, the other gaps
and missing pieces of his life shared in exchange of a few
messages. A dual story of triumph over most devastating
losses and tragedies, I felt she needed to be included in
the tribute too, via her direct quotes, the other half of
such a profound story of their lives. A most remarkable
poet/write and an equally courageous, loving, remarkable
daughter. My humble honor to honor both in this contribution
    of tributes for him.
    Love, blessings always, Ronni

What a lovely man he was, he was probably the kindest and most loyal of all the folk here that know me. I knew he started "Carpenters fo Christ" I did not know he sustained life threatening injuries in the 9/11 attack on the pentagon. But Amber sent me a personal note, which was most kind. I started the book, I have to work out how to get them to her now, thanks for writing this very informative and honouring post to his memory, saints like August are rare indeed. Well done, blessings Roy

    Hello dear Roy,
Thank you for your kind comments and appreciations on my
tribute chapter contribution for August being assembled.
Please keep us advised when completed and how we may
obtain a copy for ourselves individually. I too did get a personal
note from her, and know she mentioned this, and so glad about it.
August was indeed a remarkable man, totally dedicated in all
he did, in his work, his personal life, his community and their
community church. In all pursuits and goals, his deep Christian
Faith was his compass and Light, no matter the darkness or
the trials or tragedies. In him, I truly believe, the Lord was
well pleased and then some. Now he knows that for sure, Amen

    Gratefully, with best wishes, Ronni

Hi Ronni, when I stop crying my wonderful friend...I'm going to continue reviewing this amazing tribute to August...

I'm so glad you wrote this beautiful girl...
I don't write as well as many on here...but when I do write...I write from my heart...as you...I am so grateful you went into detail like you did...I knew your words...and felt them...but could never have written them on paper...you are an amazing writer...an Amber will have this tribute to read back on for the rest of her life...

I talked with her through PM...and August did an amazing job
taking her on her journey through life...she is such a kind and humble lady...with the same heart of gold as her father...

I would love reading his post...and we would chit- chat back and fourth...and am going to miss him
so much...I know other are as well...I know he is now Resting In Peace...out of pain...and is walking with God...

August will always be watching over Amber...her father's love for her will always be felt...

Ronni this is a wonderful tribute my sweet friend...
it so touched my heart...as so many of the poems written
to August did...we are a true FanStory family...and going to miss one of our brother...August...

I love your story told/poem...and love the picture...so nicely written you...love you...Linda xxoo

    Oh dear, dear Linda!
Rest assured dear, I was doing the same thing as you while
I was in process of writing this tribute for our dear friend,
August. Had to stop many, many times. I am so happy
you are so pleased with it, and shared such beautiful and
touching comments and compliments regarding it.
I am elated to hear that you too write from your heart,
as I do too. Never need to diminish your writing from
the heart, because it is real, true and needs no edits
or proofs to please or merit meaning and memorable
status. So too did August raise her with such deep love,
devotion and care, to every extent possible; and is so very
much like him. And indeed, August will always be watching
over her, their bond and connection always flowing through.

It is so neat and touching for both of us that we connected
with August as ever faithful fan and friend. I recall one of
the last times I got message of concern from him was when
he had that horrible fall while waking his dog, and injured
his leg so badly, had to have a rod surgically put in his leg,
and quite painful obviously. I was so concerned over it
and his recovery time, I contacted you for an address
to send him a get well card, a real get well card held
in hand and extra touch I always felt more comforting.
Blessedly you did send me an address for him, also first
I ever knew he had a daughter too. He got the card, and
in Amber's message to me of me being on list of VIP
people he wanted contacted, was the first thing she mentioned
how surprised and touched he was to get it and hold in his
hand as he was recovering. He was a very special guy indeed,
and so glad to hear how special that get well card was to him.
I am so touched you love the form/style this tribute was
composed and posted; it took me nearly 3 weeks to finally
get passed the tears and emotional roller coaster. Well
worth it though. Blessings too for the extra star!!!!!
Thanks for all your warm enthusiasms regarding my
writings and such generous compliments! Take care dear heart!
    Love, blessings always, Ronni

What a beautiful tribute to a great fellow writer. Having only been on here a few months, I did not know him. I appreciate you sharing all this about him. Looks like he went above and beyond to help others, in spite of his problems. My condolences to his daughter.

    Dear Anne,
Thank you for your kind thoughts, empathies and appreciations
on this tribute for August so upliftingly. My humble honor to have
contributed along with all the other FS fans and friends.
August indeed, was a most remarkable man, with an equally
courageous, remarkable daughter Amber. I share your condolences for her too. Sincere, most grateful for the extra
star award too. It silently honors them too through your
    visit and sharing.

Such a respectful and memorable tribute to August! While I did not know him or his work, before his passing, I was drawn to his work once learning of his death, and I was most moved by it. Amber shared his memories -- to so many of us! I am so glad you've shared his 9/11 injuries, his dedication to pushing forward, being both father and mother to Amber and still dedicating his time to using his skills to help others.

I am thrilled that one member stepped forward and donated the nearly $300 to pay for not only the Eternal Flame, but with it--the ability for Amber to now download all of his poems so she can have them forever!

Thank you Ronni... CRYZYPNTR will continue to move hearts. My most sincere condolences to Amber!

Thank you dear Karen, for your thoughtful comments and appreciation of this tribute for August. He was indeed, quite
a remarkable man and unique talent as poet/writer on FS.
So great the news about the Eternal Flame feature being
secured by that kind donation made and secured for his
work and her access to it.
He will be dearly missed for sure, but not forgotten by those
of us that were his fans and friends and his inspiration on FS.
God bless you and thanks for all your empathies and concerns,
and gracious and generous 6th star! Shared with them both
for their amazing valor and victories won despite such deep
losses and traumas in their lives.
Blessings and best wishes always, Ronni

Are you in touch with Amber? If so perhaps you can explain that along with the Eternal Flame comes the ability for hervto download all of her father's poems. The person who paid for the Eternal Flame, in August's honor, would like to remain anonymous, except tobAmber. Maybe there's some sort of way to facilitate that? I gave her my email, after we exchanged messages about establishing the "flame"--she likely didn't make note of it...
Your tribute was especially poignant, since you knew him... Beautiful!
    Karenina.

Thank you for this tribute, I did not know August well, but from what I have read, including your very caring words here, I would have been honoured to know him. A lot more details, compiling a fuller picture of a fine Christian man, whose faith was practised daily show how dearly he was both respected and loved.

Thank you Wendy, for your kind comments, empathies and
appreciations on this tribute for August. It was through the kind
and gracious help of his dear daughter Amber, that the more
personal info on him and her life, that so much of the missing
pieces and events were able to be filled in and shared. It was
my humble honor to have shared it for both of them and FS.
I am so glad you found it illuminating and meaningful.
    Best wishes, Ronni

An epic write about August who sounds like he was a brave and courageous man who suffered injuries and did not recover from them. A very sad and tributary poem to this man you knew very well and was close too, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend here, love Dolly x

Thank you dear Dolly, for your thoughtful comment and kind
    empathies. Strange as it may be, I did not know August that well;
were it not for the background info on him by his dear daughter
Amber, in PM exchanges, this could not have been written. This
was a tribute as dual success stories for both August and Amber.
This was meant to honor them as both prevailed through such
a horrendous loss,( wife,) and mother; he succeeding in raising her
as a single father while working in such a risky job field. I relied
on and included all her info on him in direct quotes from her, she
is indeed the courageous one deserving to be honored too.

Thanks again for your thoughtfulness and sharing, always so
    welcome and appreciated!
    Love, Ronni

Hello Ronni-
What a lovely tribute to August. I regret that I never knew the man, much to my loss. I'll have to go back and look for his work. Thank you for remembering him so honorably.

Thank you too Tom, for your thoughtful comments and appreciation
    of this tribute for crzypnter/august.
He was indeed, a most unusually dedicated Christian, good samaratan, single father raising a daughter with loss of mother.
Sharing it was worthy and inspirational to share.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Best wishes, Ronni
