Lol, I really enjoyed this story, the spikes of grass sticking up after the mower had gone over them, brought back some memories for me. Thank you, Sandra, for your fun review and for reading my story. I'm happy to hear it called up some memories in your mind. I had lunch with my sister the other day. When the waiter came for our order, Teri knew right away she wanted Waldorf Salad. Me, I needed another minute with the menu, haha!

Like this story. I love ice cream and can not eat it and I miss having it. I love chocolate. This made me so hungry. I can eat fudgesticks. I wanted to be there. The picture looks to be back when I was young when you were free. Thanks for sharing

Thank you for reading and taking the time to write to me! I hear you. I can only eat dairy-free ice cream now, but fudgesticks are yummy! I guess we just try and enjoy what we can. Looking back does seem like simpler times. Sending lots of good wishes to you!

Baby sis was a genius. At a time when treats were not nearly as numerous as they are today, she realized that she could maximize her treat by choosing two treats in one. I hate to say this, but unless you had something against bubblegum, you should have emulated your baby sister and come out ahead as she did.

Seems we grew up in the same era. Your writing is clear and casual on a comfortable carry way. I always wanted a sister, so really enjoyed your story about interacting with yours. Great title! (I guessed it would be about juicy gossip, not Ice cream!)

Your story is very well written and the descriptions you use are vivid and active. I like the description of the yard and the trip to the ice cream store. Bubble gum would never do. I cannot allow myself to dilute ice cream with other flavors. HAHAHA

This is a fun story for the prompt. Your little sister had a great idea knowing getting bubble gum inside the ice cream was two treats in one. I really enjoy your first person narrative, filled with vivid images of course from vivid memories.
