Lovely artwork. I carries out the theme of your poem, too, the idea of what fosters connections between people. The picture shows contemplation, as the couple is along. Excellent use of C words contemplation, condemnation, and connection. Best of luck in the contest. judi

Your presentation exerts a calming, peaceful feeling as I contemplate it - without condemnation, because it is so darn good. It makes me feel a connection to you as the author because it is a vision of the quiet, non-aggressive, non-argumentative life I aspire to, where connections can be made by people who treat each with non-judgmental respect.

Fine work in six words. Stunning presentation--excellent alliteration in CCC--you make good use of title space to enhance imagery and complement the theme.

So much said, and in so few words. Brilliant and wouldn't it be nice to contemplate without condemnation. Some of these things are just harder to do than others.

What I do like is your use of fine literary devices in so few words.

As always, your work is stellar and gets my imagination moving in the right direction.

Wishing you great luck with the Committee. :))

The short ones are the hardest, aren't they - to review as well as to write. Let's take a look...

The three connected C-words give this a strong structure and a rhyming patter of sorts.

Then there is the message of the poem bolstered by the romantic artwork.

Verdict? Pretty darn good.

    Always pleased when you stop by.
    So... my original offering = elucidation in the final line.
    But then I considered that connections would be understood more and possess the alliterative c- word, so I went with that.
    For some odd reason, I am drawn to short poems = trying to get a message across with a paucity of words.
    Thanks so much!
    You are a "pretty darn good" reviewer...and writer, too!

Hi Diane, that is so very true. Yes, if we could only accept each other without so much distrust and prejudice, the world would be such a more lovely place to be. You say it all in those six short words. Well done. Good luck in the contest. Ulla:)))

Diane,

What a smart post! These six-word poems are hard to do. It's is asking a lot to use only six words and still SAY SOMETHING. *smile* I like the fact you addressed a major issue we are having in the world currently.

The only thing I saw is that your last word left a kinda sad taste in my mouth because it didn't quite rhyme. (Sorry!) I have offered some ideas to substitute - IF you are interested. If not, just ignore me and move on. haha

shared contemplation
without condemnation
fosters connections...

--> toleration/cooperation/admiration
--> bifurcation --> just kidding - hahahaha

Thanks so much for a smart and timely piece. Good luck!

    Thanks, Robin...
    Glad you enjoyed.
    Played around with all of the words you suggested before I posted, leaned strongly toward "elucidation," but realized that "connections" is what I intended... But thank you for your suggestions!

Ah Diane,
Your wisdom is showing. You're much kinder than me. Perhaps if I stay on this site long enough I'll learn to be less critical. You're ever a teacher gal. Well done. Have a blessed night.
