I'm hoping that Annie escaped. LOL pretty dumb of them to put her in another room.

Is this a typo? Not sure. Didn't do that great in Spanish.

"Don't go soft on me, Miguel. We've killed many ombres. It means nothing to me." Tito grinned, exposing two missing teeth. "Tito is not afraid."
Omber or hombre?

    Miguel hoped to save her from Tito's anger, at least for the moment.

    The dictionary says I can use either, but now that I think about it, hombre seems what I see most of the time.

    Thanks - Carol

Carol,

Yikes! These guys seem like boy scouts, huh? Nice, good guys who only want what's best for the whole world - sweet little hearts beating in massive chests. Bleh.

Only one tiny note:
--> "Update!. A man is trying to grab the duffel bag
--> delete the period

And it begins! -- here I go --

It doesn't look good for little Annie. Tito is a heartless thug. I wouldn't be surprised if Annie is ready for him. She's a resourceful little girl. Miguel, as bad as he is, is also determined not to let Tito hurt Annie. I wouldn't be surprised if he used force, in her defense.

Just a few grammatical suggestions:

If you can not block take-off before we arrive,
-->
If you cannot block take-off before we arrive, [cannot is the more acceptable form]

"Update!.
-->
"Update!

"No, shoot. No shoot."
-->
"No shoot. No shoot."

***

Great suspense, in this chapter! You've got Sofia. Now we've got to rescue little Annie.

I think I missed this one. That answers my questions about air support. It also, shows that Tito is more interested in killing or doing something to Annie than saving his own skin. A man with that kind of evil in his heart will soon be hard to control.

Well done.

Good gravy Marie! You about gave me a heart attack! Tito is about as cold blooded as they come! The scene with him licking his own blood is doubly creepy! Annie has been through the ringer...it's time for her to get home! (But I've been begging that for chapters...)

I had no clue Fire planes could make such a targeted hit with that retardant... Knowing how you research your facts I assume they can!

Oh...this is tense and tight and thrulling!

    It keeps the reader involved, hoping for her rescue. Everyone wants to hate the writer and pray that she'll get a heart soon and rescue the poor girl. LOL

    They pinpoint the fires and the retardant makes quite a spread so it doesn't have to be spot on precise. Just enough to cover the plane. 1200 gallons goes a long ways.

Gripping scene with the chase to stop the plane. Odd intervention--never heard of such a thing--red stuff in cockpit! Chilling to contemplate what TITO intends. Stupendous.

    Actually it wasn't in the cockpit...they dropped the fire retardant on the window and the runway thus making a takeoff difficult. Thanks for reading and enjoying.

I like having the firefighters drop red goo on the getaway plane. Hooray - they got Mason. Now hopefully, they can get to Annie before Tito tries to kill her. Great drama in the chase with ground and air pursuit!

Comments:
If you can not block take-off (cannot)
The menacing look on his face wasn't good. (whose face?)

    Tito's face ...he was the one going into the room toward Annie. Miguel was on the sofa with a gunshot wound.

    Mason was not on the plane. He told Sofia he was sending a plane for her, but he wasn't on it.

Carol! You simply cannot stop there!! Tito is far worse than Miguel!
Sofia has been caught - good. Mason will be caught - also good. But please be quick to adage Annie!! Gripping!

Tito? Wasn't he a dog? Well, yes, he's a dirty dog even now. No, it was Toto the little dog in the Wizard of Oz. I don't know. I can't remember anything. But thanks for sharing another fine chapter that keeps me on the edge of my seat. Thanks for sharing.

    the name just popped into my head. He wasn't suppose to be a significant character and all of a sudden he's playing an important role...I had to call him something besides the man. LOL

    I think the next chapter might have some goosebumps in it too.

    by the way, you never answered...Are you okay?

    I'm sorry, I would never intentionally not answer you. Am I okay? I'm better than that. Or at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it. :-) Ric

    Ugh! You are still ignoring my question by going in a circle and not saying anything. Thus I will draw my own conclusion and worry. Smiles - Carol

    I'll let you know something when I know more. They can't get my blood pressure regulated. It goes from very low to very high, and everywhere in between. My heart is doing more tricks than a monkey on a vine. I'm wearing a heart monitor and was supposed to go back to the heart doctor on the 22nd, but they called today and want to see me tomorrow. I monitor my blood pressure three times a day, and the reading goes straight to the nurses at the hospital. They call every night asking if I feel okay. So, today they made me come to the hospital, been trying for two weeks, but after four hours they didn't know what to do. So, I came home. But never worry. I don't. It's just another day . . . or it isn't. Sorry for the novella, but you asked for it. LOL. BEAR HUG!

    Thank you...yes I wanted to know and I appreciate you telling me. I worry and then my blood pressure goes crazy too. LOL

    Now we both have reasons to worry about each other more than we normally would for our friends. LOL. Do they know what causes yours to go nuts?
