These true stories born out in verse will bring a tear to the eye. Meter and rhyme scheme are very good as usual. Having been married for fifty-six years, I can really identify with this one.

Writing poetry can be very cathartic and you have penned a beautiful tribute to your wife who is no longer here to share your days. This is very well written.

What a beautiful biographical poem, Ja. I can feel your longing and pride. You did a great job filling in gaps for those of us who do not know you, and did the numbers smoothly, which is hard for me.
Excellent and sweet.
And I am sorry for your loss, although it happened so long ago. The myth that time heals is just that.
Blessings,
Deb

What a lovely tribute to your wife. This piece tells the reader that there is a way to hold and honor those we have lost. It also gives a sense they are still with us even after they are gone.

I can feel the love for your wife in your words. Excellent biographical poem that takes the reader on your life's journey. Excellent poetic form and a poem that touches the heart.

You packed life wisdom into a handful of words!! A poem with a hurricane of feelings ready to spark souls of any human being that becomes a reader. Great Writing!

Your poem reads well with good rhymes and smooth flow. The story it tells is poignant, yet highlights the love you and your wife shred for so many years.
Respectfully, Jan

What a beautiful tribute to a departed spouse told vividly with love and gratitude for a life shared with family and the final line is a reminder of ways to cope with the sense of loss

It does sound like it was heaven while it lasted.
Alas, death was looming, made it's call,
we were against life's final wall.
My bride for life died in eighty two.
Poetry helps me to get through.
That is a long time mourning. Thirty nine years!
