Well-written and amusing. The garage guy does have the same mannerism and indecisiveness the reader would expect from a Barney Fife character. The only problem I saw was the comma after skin divides a cliché and should not be there.

Thank you for your involved review. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
We are at the culmination of many adventures based upon the two ladies rescuing 10 Native teens from a trafficking operation.. I invite you to read the first 13 chapters in my portfolio about the rescue. Every chapter is suspenseful. There is no need to write a review. I just want you to treat it like a book you might read to enjoy. ***Spoiler *** Tommy, offers the ladies a place to rest & enjoy some of his cooking. He is on his way to a food festival & there is a traffic jam because of brush fires. The irony is he is the brother of one of the girls who are rescued. Enjoy it if you have the opportunity.

I jumped into this chapter, not having had opportunity to read any of the prior chapters. Even so, I was drawn in immediately. Enjoyed the dialogue, learned a bit about Native American healing, loved one character being a 'prayer warrior' and I could go on. I totally enjoyed this chapter.

Thank you for your involved review, Yes, you're coming in cold into this story. I've had similar experiences. But fortunately this chapter can stand alone and be appreciated.

wonderful to hear. If you want to stop after Ch 13. It is a stand alone collection of events. The chapters from 14-the end review some of 1-13 and go back to what led up to them discovering the girls. The suspense never lets up.
    Enjoy.

I liked this! I especially liked the way you incorporated the dialect of the man an the description. I was just a bit lost getting started but as I continued I started to better understand the theme you were capturing with your great detail.

Oh, my gosh! Can I just tell you Don Knotts' performances in "The Andy Griffith Show" are precious to us! You described his look- and act-alike perfectly in your story! I could just see Barney pointing his gun (without a bullet) with his shaky hand. I also love your example of acknowledging the artist for the photo. I need to start doing the same. Thank you for sharing your writing talent!

Well, sometimes all you have to do is listen. A lot of people have stories to share and they just want someone to hear them out. Now, what could the collateral Mr. Knotts have in mind. I'm assuming it is either money or one of the girls.

Thank you for your involved review. You just gave me an idea. It will be just a poke, but I could have him say one of the stay, that way he knew they'd have to come back. Oooof...sizzle. That is a good segue for Tommy leaving his valuable watch. Cool. Thanks.

This was a great continuation chapter, Liz. I really enjoyed reading this one. The fact that Chief Lavender had the medicine person work on his lungs was great- burning sage is very practical with a spirit imbalance. Mmm I wonder what he will ask for as collateral? This was both interesting and knowledgeable. Very well done.

This is getting more and more interesting, Liz. I'm wondering how it will all be connected. Looks like there might be a chance they'll get the car going again.

Here are a couple of punctuation errors:
"She saw the source of it, was, about half..." - remove the commas
"We're not here to take a vehicle,(;) we're here to have you help us get a vehicle(.) We want to bring it back here for you to work on.

It's great they have Tommy with them. He's good at calming down Don Knott's lookalike. I wonder what they can use for collateral. I still wonder if their car isn't already there.
