Oh, dear, that went badly wrong. Liz thinks Mary was Jack's mistress from the sounds of it. I hope it gets sorted soon. Poor Mary, and Liz, both are going through hell at the moment. When Liz finds out the truth ... well, I wait to see how that pans out. I've been looking for this part every other hour! Lol. Brilliantly written again, Carol. Now Jon is trying hard to get God's forgiveness, but he has to do something more than pray. He has to act. Can't wait for the next part. Well done, my clever friend. Love and hugs. Sandra xxxxx

My apologies for answering and thanking you so late. I had to cut and paste for many (which I hate doing) but I was 158 reviews and 46 messages to read plus all the six-star messages (oh I was so blessed with those) and I am drowning. (LOL) Must be the celebrating or just the age!

I saved your reviews and now I am going through each one and checking to make sure I didn't miss any important suggestions. Thank you for enjoying this chapter.

Love you and sending you lots of smiles (they might be a bit droopy) and ((hugs)). Always, Carol

Why did Liz react so badly to Mary? She surely didn't think Jack would have had a affair with a woman so much older? Seemed a bit disproportionate to the offence of living on her property at a distance. Jon is saying prayers, but he is still not to be trusted. Never tells the truth to anyone. Mary has obviously recognised her daughter Hope so it will be interesting to see how Liz/ Hope copes with this revelation. Keeps the interest - no big reveal just yet!

Sorry for the cut and paste but I am now currently 158 responses behind. I want to make the changes, thank everyone and start fresh. Wishing you a great day.

Please forgive me for being so far behind on answering reviews, fixing suggestions, and thanking everyone for their kindness. Good thing a birthday only comes once a year. I posted to my family that I was cooking and for the first time in years, my house was over flowing for two days after two days of cooking. Now in three days, Matthew starts filming again and I must cook for them. This woman is tired. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

Wham! Stunning scene with Liz and Mary. Why does Mary call her "Hope" did she realize Liz is Faith's twin?

The clock of life was ticking loudly; its gears grated against the hands of time until they stopped. [SUGG OMIT Time froze.]

The team resembled rolling marbles with no particular destination [SUGG OMIT to go].

With no visible assailant, they returned to the patio.

I didn't expect a reaction like that from Liz. Some more fun twists and turns in this story. Even though he's begging for forgiveness, I don't trust Jon. Looking forward to reading the next segment. Blessings. Carol

He's a weak one...he bends the way the wind is blowing. We will have to see how much he is willing to sacrifice to become a good person agian. Thanks, Carol

You sure know how to keep the conflict going at all times and stir emotions like a moonshiner using a boat oar. These last few chapters won't even give an old boy a rest. Thanks for sharing.

so sorry... my writing flows like a river and lately there's been some pretty rough ways thus my characters aren't strolling in the park. Thanks for stopping by tonight. It's a pleasant way to end my day...with a smile. Hope you are well.

If I was any better they would be writing books about me. But they would all be comedies. Smile and hugs to YOU!

So maybe there's hope for Jon after all like Mary envisioned? Boy, Liz was unglued - was she thinking that Jack was unfaithful to her? She's pretty unreasonable to not even ask for any explanation. Hope Hank and Emmy can speak some sense into her.

I think it all is finally catching up with her...losing her husband, all the mystery, caring for the vineyard she really didn't want (citylife was her thing) Allie and Cassidy getting hurt, and people everywhere... She tilted the scale a little to far, but we will hope she takes a second breath.

It is good to know Jon is repentanat for all the terrible things he has been involved with. I was shocked at Liz's reaction to Mary. She must wonder if her husband had been cheating since he kept the woman a secretl. I'm wondering how Faith came to be in the cottage in the first place. If she was the adopted daughter of the people who were murdered why wasn't she living in the Villa when Jack bought it. Is the cottage on the wineary property? I've forgotten what happened to Anne's father.

Annie's father died in Afghanistan. Faith had cancer prior to that time. Mary cared for her and when she got worse, her adopted parents gave her her own space because they were thinking of selling and they titled that area to her. she became really sick, Mary stayed with her, and her parents were murdered.... someone wanted the property. But Jack won out and was able to purchase it.

    Hope that helps.... Carol

Wow! There is so much going on here. I feel cheated that I'm not starting at chapter 1. Your first line on life ticking like a clock had me interested, the rest of the story was fascinating. I hope if I practice writing for the next several decades I can be half the "senior citizen writer" you are ma'am!

Awww! How sweet of you! I love to write mysteries and make lots of twists and turns so the reader has to keep on guessing. I am thrilled that you enjoyed it. It's a very interesting story from chapter 1, but as you see, it can be fun regardless of where you drop in.

Smiles and a big hug for yur kindness, Carol
