Aussie,

You have the same heart as my hubby. When we ever talk about the coming of the Lord, my husband will say, "Come on, Lord'. And I'm always baffled by his choice.

Here I am - standing in a spot where I REALIZE the world is too much with me. It's so bad. I still want to see my kids grow up (more). I want to see more grandkids. And see THEM grow up. Though, to be honest, the worse the world gets - the more that kinda fades...

I appreciate wonderful attitudes like yours - they inspire me! Thank you!

Hi Robyn, At the moment, we are stuck in a void. Our human side is battling with the world today, realising nothing can change what is happening. It will get worse before the end of days. Doesn't matter what man tries to do to stop it - the Book of Revelation describes everything that is happening now. Don't fret about seeing your kids grow up. Jesus loves children. Some folks will be lifted up whole and the graves will open. No more pain and suffering, we will be whole; no more wars and plagues (happening now) from the beginning of time god gave man free choice. When I was hit by a car and died on the op. table - once again, no pain just peace. He will not let us go; your husband would appreciate the words from the Bible, "and Underneath are the Everlasting Arms. And He also said "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If any man let me in, I will sup with him and he with me." Sixty years ago, my own dad said to me, "don't be afraid Jesus said: In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would not have told you." As above, so below. He waits for His faithful to come home. Hope I haven't spoken too much! Love, Kay.

Nice devotional poem. I like the closing note HE SMILED!

I noticed a period at the end but most other punctuation avoided. Since there is a lot of enjambment, I think This poem works best with punctuation to sculpt the phrasing flow and cadences and for clarity. Example:

The Lord Jesus sits at my table.
What can I ask him now?
His presence is His gift--
Love personified.

Dear Lord, you gave your life.
I only have one question,
My heart beating fast
In His glorious light.

No need for words, I thought.
His gentle smile healed me.
I have a question, Lord:
When can I come Home?

"In my Father's house are many mansions..."

He smiled.

HIS PRESENCE IS HIS GIFT is my favorite line.

Lovely work. Inspired.

Hugs,
rs

Thank you my learned friend. I shall take your suggestions on board.
Never had any coaching on writing, I write from my heart and this poem was pure inspiration. The only time I get religious is when I drop a brick on my foot and tell Him all about it! Much love, Kay xx

This is a poem of longing, and one that I understand. It is not easy to be patient when one is homesick. We know the meaning of the smile. "Don't fret. All happens at the right time. Be patient and content for now with my love.

Very nice poem.

Hi Kace, myself I think it will happen sooner than we think...everything happening...reads from the bible...
the final days...

but for now I prefer you stick around here...
but wouldn't be amazing Sweetie Pie if we could
just sit down...and just see His face...and run a
conversation with him...I know He is here with us...but I
would love to touch Him my sweet friend...

I love your poem you...a poem for thought...so very well written...love much...Linda xxoo

Hello Linda Louie, Many times I have wanted not to wake up. Still, He never gives us more than we can carry. He gave me Benny who soothes my soul and helps with the loneliness. Love you too :-) XX

Your words soothe the soul and have a good feeling in them. "No need for words I thought" is a perfect line. Jesus hears our thoughts and you have created strong words of faith.

This poem is inspirational, calming, and reassuring. The thoughts of sitting in the presence of Jesus is almost overwhelming. You asked a question, and He smiled. Imagine a smile from Jesus. Thank you Aussie for giving me this imagery. It will carry me through this day.

This was an honest talk between you and the Lord, Kay. I loved how you had just one question but addressed it repeatedly and I loved His answer to your question. Very well done and immensely enjoyed.
