I have never heard of the Lady Slippers before. If not for the writing prompt 5-7-5 A Flower, I wouldn't have known it is a flower.
And you have crafted a lovely poem out of it. The pictures also compliment the poem. So sweet and the flower looks like slippers indeed. Good luck in the contest!

Your metaphor will draw the reader in. They will them delight in the fanciful tone. We need to be presented with this playful imagery. The world id too serious. Well presented.

What cute little flowers! I didn't know that Lady Slippers are orchids and i also didn't know what the state flower of Minnesota is so thank you for including that bit of information.

It is always nice to see a bit of whimsy in a poem. Flowers seem to bring that on a lot.
