That bang you hear is my heart poundng. At last Mary and Cassidy have come together.
I'm gearing up for a pick up truck full of emotions shared soon...

And Annie!

Miguel! So he's Mason's main man!

The tumblers are turning...no amount of clandestine activity will be left in the "safe."

You've held your stride throughout...and now you've picked up the baton and are sprinting to the finish line!

I would like to fill out an application to be president of your fan club!

Position taken? Maybe VP? PR person?
Floor sweeper!--I have experience in that!

Holy cow Carol....

This chapter is a kind of cliffhanger! We don't know the outcome of Mary and Cassidy's meeting, nor do we know what Emmy's investigation has led to. But it does look like drugs had also leaked out of the truck, in a previous accident involving the wine barrels and Miguel.

It had been thirty years, people change.

Maybe Jack had learned something about the illegal drug trade going on at his winery, and that's what got him killed.

Sorry for the cut and paste but I am now currently 158 responses behind. I want to make the changes, thank everyone and start fresh. Wishing you a great day.

Please forgive me for being so far behind on answering reviews, fixing suggestions, and thanking everyone for their kindness. Good thing a birthday only comes once a year. I posted to my family that I was cooking and for the first time in years, my house was over flowing for two days after two days of cooking. Now in three days, Matthew starts filming again and I must cook for them. This woman is tired. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

What a well-written chapter! You did a fantastic job of taking the lid of some of the hidden secrets, and the reunion between Cassidy and Mary is heart warming. I can't wait to see where all this leads.

Carol,

So they were able to get some info from the scene of the kidnapping - very cool. Not that it matters much because I would think we know who's behind it. Although you are good at surprises. Hmmm...

Okay - good chapter - now, on to more!

Great reunion between Mary and Cassidy. I like how you brought that about very naturally. Can't wait to find out what they talk about. But I will wait! Blessings. Carol

I was surprised to see you had written 3 chapters in a short time frame. This segment was very emotional.

I would love to be fly on the wall and hear what Cassidy and Mary are discussing. I know how hard that information must be. I'm glad more information about the case slowly coming out. I love the story.

Cassidy turned toward the window, "How do I tell her about Jon?" (period needed after 'window')

A very well crafted chapter. For a second I thought Mary and Cassidy would not speak at this point, but then I figured you wouldn't do that to us. I guess we will have to wait for the next chapter to see what took place from their points of view.

Yes...39 and 40 covers most of it. It took two chapters for me to spill out the emotions and wouldn't you it... Liz stumbles out and fireworks explode! LOl Another chapter to mop up that floor again.

The writing in this chapter is generally very good. The revelation of mysteries is still advancing. I'm still having trouble connecting who was informed about how much and when, and I find it unlikely that local police would have ignored a witness report about the white powder being hidden. You might accomplish the same thing by having Miguel hurriedly close-up and secure the doors that popped open when he was hit. Not quite as suspicious to the locals, but still a clue for detectives. ? ? ?

I think they would have taken a photo of the tire marks (if there were any, since he laid rubber when leaving) and a cast of the footprint.

Notes:

Each step was heavier and heavier to take as he proceeded -- suggest: each step became heavier and heavier as he proceeded

After thirty years of marriage, she -- suggest Emmy vs. she -- antecedents are Garth and Emily = they

Every chapter you write deserves a six, but I'm happy I just happen to have one for this loaded chapter. Now, I'll be waiting all day to read the conversation between Cassidy and Mary. Thanks for sharing and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! :-)

I'm dying to know how the conversation is going with Cassady and Mary and also what is happening with the kidnapped child. There are so many angles of this story to keep our minds going in every directions. You have a gift of writing mysteries and crime stories.

by now you know about Cassidy and Mary and suddenly the entrance of Liz. As for Annie, we don't know anything yet. Soon I hope.
