Bring my Annie home! I'm worried here! Okay, got that off !t chest...

Medically speaking I think a lot g twisted like a pretzel would indicate more than a broken fibula...

Mary? Passing out was expected... It unconscious still, and the doctor left her?
Suggest tightening up these medical issues...of course...RN that I am.

Uh-oh. SIN-thia? Alone with unsupervised access to Michael??? That's worrying!

Left field thought... Father Jon. Paternity.

Wheels spinning!

I was thinking Mary had been awake and then he gave her a sedative because she was so distraught...I might have to make that clearer. And I realized the leg needed to be written a bit more serious. At first I thought I needed him out of the hospital, but as I wrote later chapters I decided to keep him there so a broken tibia will be just fine. Not sure how Michael will feel about it, but sorry... Need another take! Action...crack! ...ouch! Smiles

Oh, bother! You know RN's...we think we know everything! (smirk)---

I overthink this kind of chapter and really I shouldn't....

No, it's something I really need to check out. Just because I thought I wrote it that way doesn't necessarily mean I did. I just need to go back and read it again. make a mental note to me....I just needed to get through all those awesome reviews and messages before they drove me crazy...Not a long drive but one I'd rather not take.

It's good that both Mary and Michael are getting the medical attention they need. Cynthia is a scary presence at the hospital, and the idea of her teaming up with Mason certainly brings thoughts of an unholy alliance (not Mason's first).

Errors and suggestions:

That was a good save, for Poppa to tell Aunt Cynthia that he and her nephew were discussing "man stuff." Lol.

Please forgive me for being so far behind on answering reviews, fixing suggestions, and thanking everyone for the kindness. Good thing a birthday only comes once a year. I posted to my family that I was cooking and for the first time in years, by house was over flowing for two days after two days of cooking. Now in three days, Matthew starts filming again and I must cook for them. This woman is tired. Thank you for all your support and kindness.

Well Happy Birthday, my dear friend! I didn't yet read your birthday post, although I've been meaning to.
You certainly must be tired, after all that cooking and entertaining, although I know you love your family with all your heart.
I understand that you needed to do copy-and-paste responses, and because now you will have so many replies, I will keep my own responses short, and easy for you to manage.
I do hope that you will eventually review the proofreading suggestions, so that my efforts will not be in vain. I understand that you can't fix the errors in all those chapters overnight; it takes time; also, you may not agree with every revision suggested.
All of that being said, I hope you'll take time to breathe, and not wear yourself out; you do want to live, to see another birthday, and beyond, God willing! Let me get this straight: it was YOUR birthday, and YOU did all that cooking? But that's right, you're the Mom; who could stop you? God bless you, my friend, and your family too.
Love and prayers, Mary Kay xoxo

Thank you, Mary Kay, and never fear I will be going back chapter by chapter and fixing the errors before I ever try to publish. I prefer to do it as I go, but this time it just got out of hand. And with filming starting on Thursday...I am definitely overwhelmed. I thank you again for the birthday wishes and all the help. Smiles!

Thank you, Carol, for your kind response. I forgot to ask you about Matthew's filming... who are you cooking for -- your family, or a whole film crew? Is Matthew a son or a grandson, and what's this filming all about? Please don't feel you have to answer all these questions at once. We will get to it, by and by. Don?t be stressed :-) Love, Mary Kay

Matthew is my youngest son. Besides his fulltime job, he writes scripts and produces them. One won best picture at the NY Film festival and a company bought it, one is is editing, and the new one is about to begin. It's 5 segments (short films) combined into a sermon...like people at a campfire sharing stories. I really hope it goes well. I do the props and feed the whole film crew.

He has an impressive job. And what you do is fantastic! How do you even have time to write?

Carol,

Man! It's a wonderful thing that Poppa (who knew!?) is such good listener. And look what we get out of that. Michael has shown his true colors, thank goodness. But, knowing you, will Poppa make it to safely tell everyone what he knows???

And more-

Yeah, the bruiser got a soft spot for Michael I guess... one never knows. He will protect Michael if he can...but we better watch out for Cynthia and Mason.

I must have slipped right past this chapter, but thankfully, it wasn't gone and I was able to catch up with it. Since I've started reading your stories, I've come to believe I better keep a close eye on everyone. LOL. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Great job of keeping this wonderful story going as well as the intensity of the chapter. You've definitely captured the attitude of Cynthia, and her desire to be center-stage. I'm continuing to love your story!

    Good morning, Shirley.

Glad you understand that devious woman. She smiles on the outside and connives on the inside. She's not a nice person.

So glad Michael opened up to Poppa about Cynthia and what he suspects. Cynthia's never going to win an award for being gracious and appreciative! LOL. So many people are hurt in this story now. Good chapter. Blessings.

Well done again. Some situations are improving - I am glad that Michael has confided in Poppa, and may set them on the right track. Mary is okay but exhausted, they are starting to see through Cynthia .... But still concerned for Annie who must be terrified. Looking forward to more, of course.

It looks like maybe things will start to come together now. I'm glad Michael connected with Poppa and has admitted the errors he's made. Another excellent chapter, Carol.

Just heading there, Carol. We are in a hotel tonight (visiting my brother) and the internet is veery slow. I was hoping to post too, but guess that will have to wait until I get home tomorrow.

    I immediately posted.

Thanks, Carol. Just came down for the day. He?s in a Retirement Home now, with no overnight accommodations for us. We?ll be heading home in the morning. We are vaccinated and wearing masks when near strangers.

Your story is going really well. Cynthia was told the child was possibly one of the helpers children. I'm not sure how she learned about the cabin or how the man who kidnapped her knew she would run into woods. But we don't really know who was behind the kidnapping or why kidnapping the child would cause Mary to sell. I'm sorry I ask too many question. I love your story.

It wasn't Cynthia behind any of it. Miguel is the henchman for Mason and he knows everything that happens on the ranch. Cynthia and Mason had a rendezvous but she didn't know who the child was, but Miguel did. You're jumping way ahead of the story, my dear. Sorry...to confuse you. Smiles, Carol

Annie still remains lost, but I think she's actually safe, they just want her to scare the living daylights out of Mary come Liz. But Michael is safely in the hospital and the FBI is on his case, because Michael could now be in danger himself, oh dear what has Cynthia gone and done? Beautifully written Carol, great episode, blessings Roy

Unfortunately, she isn't safe, but nothing serious has happened to her yet. She's in the hands of some ugly people and headed to uglier ones. My white knights will have to come charging in to the rescue I hope. Smiles, Carol

I know, you could never harm a child in your stories, rough them up a bit, but not harm them.
reply by the author on 27-Aug-2021
No I could not....I guess most writers don't connect to their characters in the same fashion I do. I would rather see myself hurt than to seriously injure a child...real or not.
reply by royowen on 27-Aug-2021
I agree, my kids were so, so precious to me, and opened my eyes to all children, my pet hate is child abuse, and the second is bullying the vulnerable. Whoever they may be.
