Hmmm, well that's way too much showing and telling. How embarrassing for the mom. You did a great job with your contest entry, Beth. I enjoyed reading it. Your lines are filled with good imagery.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you Jan. I was a little nervous about posting this. I glad most people have a sence of humor. The child didn't know what it was. She figured there was a switch that would make it vibrate but the teacher managed to stop the presentation before it happened.

Ooooh, if that is what I think it is you are a naughty, naughty girl. I can imagine a kid doing that sort of thing. Thing is they had to tell. How did they know what it was? Although I figure they must have seen something identical maybe smaller somewhere?

I don't think she got as far as actually makeing her speech. because the teacher saw it and took it. She didn't know what it was. I think she planned to show there was way to turn it on and make it move. I've feel a bit naughty for posting this but you're naughty for giving me six stars which i do appreciate.

Oh, really! Wow! Not only is it the last thing in the world you would want your child to 'Show and Tell' but why was it in plain view for her to find? Now there is a mother who needs to regroup.
Very unique subject and a giid entry for the contest,

Ralf

Actually It was hidden in a closet, and the child searched the closet looking for somethng to show, but I didn't have room to tell that except in the notes. My own daughter found condoms by going though drawers. She opened a pack and thought it was the perfect fabric to make a raincoat for her Barbie. Never underestimate what a kid can find. LOL Thanks for the review.

Beth the six stars is for this delightful story and for your courage in posting it. My only advice would be to edit your author notes to say this is based on a story you heard because the category is fiction.
I love the way you leave the scene in the classroom to the imagination of your readers!

Best of luck in the contest.

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

Thank you Julia, It did take some courage to post this. I thought the fact the dialogue might have been slightly different made it fiction, but maybe I should change the notes. The six make me feel a lot better about posting it.

You're welcome. I guess the child described the object as a toy. Well technically it was. Lololol

Well, she did tell her daughter to be "creative" and she was. I love this, what else could one use this object for, mind you how many kids would actually know what it was. A great entry in this flas fiction contest. Beth, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

Hilarious--not for the mother!--I recall your telling me this story in response to a review--so glad you worked it into this delightful flash. This may be a winner!

Oh-oh. I guess that was a big too creative. Mom should have specified the creative choices had to be from her own room only. Cute story all told in just 100 words. Best wishes in the contest!
