Never a dull moment. That's for sure. With all these children and your mom and dad to worry about, how did you ever find time for yourself and your hubby.
I would like to hear more about Evan. He had to have the patience of Job to get through all these shifts in your children's life. Did you bear it all alone or did he help you with the problem solving.
Very interesting for sure.
Hope everyone is settled by now.
My best
Marie

Thank you Marie for the review and comments. My husband was very concerned about the children and he was the one they turned to if they needed money. He let their problems bother him more than I did. I really miss him because he helped me so much. We live on nineteen acres of mostly woods. He had a garden and kept everything up ourside. Since he is gone, I can barely take care of the inside. He was a quiet person and very spiritual. He loved his family. We depended on each other.

It's always nice to tune in to one of your chapters of real life and get a dose of how similar everyone's lives seem to be, at least at times. I could give you a six on every chapter, if they just gave us enough to go around. Wish I had one. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Yes, I feel the same about life. I tell the Lord that I have no complaints. Trials make us. Without them, what could we learn?
The kids are wiser today, and so are you. Good one, Beth.

Thank you Chuck. I see you still have some sixes left. I appreciate it. Life is full of ups and downs but overall I'm glad to still be here. I feel I've had a good life.

Two men in the same cell at a nearby prison. They both looked out the same window but saw two different scenes. Amazing how life presents itself

The nest is finally empty! But your heart is still full, and sometimes heavy. I wonder whether Connie followed through with Nursing -- did she need that chemistry class?

Then you learned about her heart problems! That must have been tough. I hope they were eventually resolved.

Your father's bowel problems were another thorny issue -- and paper towels in the toilet? That's what plastic bags are for, even if you have to tie them double or triple, but I guess your mother was at her wits' end.

I wonder whether Connie was allowed to be a camp counselor/rock climbing instructor/lifeguard, despite her heart issues, and how that all worked out.

And I can't imagine sleeping on a cold waterbed!

Thank you again, Mary Kay. You always know exactly what my work needs. Connie was allowed to work at the camp. Several years later she did have to get a pacemaker. She is on her second one. She needed the chemistry for nursing but she stick with that program. She changed to Interior design. She now works as a kitchen and bath designer.

You're so very welcome, dear Beth. I'm happy for Connie, that she had the camp counselor experience, and then found her calling in Interior Design. I'm sorry she's needed the pacemakers, but we can be thankful for this technology -- and I hope it hasn't been too intrusive or awkward to cope with. You're such a good and caring mother, to all your children. God bless you. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Life always has it's ups and downs no matter how hard we try to keep the happy times flowing. Relationships come and go and we have to adjust constantly to different situations living throws our way. It is all part of living so we may as well accept the changes. Well done, Beth. Nancy:)

You did a great job with this chapter, Beth. I enjoyed reading it. You always give readers great details about your family members--even if those aren't always positive. It's the way life acts. Your memories are well organized, and the writing of them is smooth. Your family members kept you and your husband hoppin'. I liked the discussion of Kimberly and Don with the upcoming birth of their baby.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Excellent, Beth!

I love how smoothly you write about the difficult times and the good ones. Your final paragraph wraps it all up with a beautiful bow. Life isn't a fairy tale and often no matter how much we love people, things happen and we find ourselves in a nightmare, praying we wake up soon.

Sniles and hugs, Carol
