Yes, I imagine. Sometimes falling or sliding back just a few paces after you've struggled, faced pain and hardship, and when your goal is insight, even a small slip can seem like a catastrophe.

Beautiful metaphor about this slippery slop, dear Katherine. I admire your sense of great imagery and contemplation at the same time. We all have mountains to climb here and there...we try, we try over and over again...it is great to try.

This sort of put me in the mood of the movie Groundhog Day. If you haven't seen it, you don't want to. But every day when Bill Murray wakes it's the same time of the same day and every repeats itself over and over. Like climbing a hill and slipping back to the bottom and having to start all over again. Thanks for sharing.

I believe you are comparing life's ups and downs (her medical issue) with that of climbing to the peak of the mountain. Sometimes it is easy, yet others it takes more attempts, but all is worth the effort. It is when one gives up that it becomes serious. As long as one is able to fight, better days are ahead.
