This certainly gave me a chuckle. Without the coma in the last line, the poem would have taken on an entirely different meaning. This was meant to be fun, and it is.

This really tickled me. The last line would be a welcome addition to the punctuation section of my course on English for foreign students - I'm always on the lookout for ways to explain comma usage to the poor, befuddled students. I felt your first two lines wasted syllables somewhat on inanities, more examples would have been more powerful.

You are right.
Initially, I had a different title : Punctuation, hence why I used the first two lines to explain in more detail my point.
Last minute, I changed the title to : Commas Make a Difference.
Providing more examples to make my point would have been more powerful , indeed.
So you teach English to foreigners.. it s not an easy language; reading and writing is tough.
In Italian you pronounce words as they are written.( there are exceptions but few).
My mother was Dutch, my father Italian but I was lucky they both also spoke English so I had an advantage.
