You are keeping this story flowing along very well. Quite a situation your main character has found herself in. Will be waiting for the next chapter.
I did notice a couple of typos: "They've never shown any interesting in them." I think you meant "interest" here. Also: "Any idea's how I should handle this?" I think you meant "ideas". Hope you don't mind these suggestions.

You are welcome. We can read something over a dozen times and still miss little things. Glad we can be of help to one another on this site.

One sure thing I found this chapter very emotional. Thank goodness that Gabriel is level headed to have support Katherine while she finds a good lawyer. I'm so happy the boys are a ware of the difficult time that their mother is going through

I hope you'll give Katherine a talking to and tell her she's become too dependent on Gabriel. She's surely capable of finding a lawyer herself. They should probably cool it for a while until things are settled with her in-laws. They won't have much to go on in court, as they've had no contact with the children, and these days it would not be considered a big deal if a young widow is seeing a man--one man. The money motive should be easy to prove. Katherine needs to be concerned with her job and the boys instead of getting in over her head with Gabe. I can see this dependency is probably part of her nature since she married so young and didn't have that many responsibilities until her husband died.
After all that, maybe I should be an advice columnist. Great chapter. judi

LOL Maybe you do. Katherine also had a very controlling father. Tiny pieces of that come out little at a time. Thank you for the kind review.

Well, we could see that coming. There are people like that which is probably why Katherine's husband was such a cold and uncaring person. He was a child of these parents, and he turned out like them.

This seems such a bleak chapter. Surely, the authorities can't contemplate taking the boys away. On what grounds? I'm not sure this is very realistic. It's well written, and I like the story. Surely, they can't take her boys away. I'm sorry it just doesn't work like that. Ulla:)))

I actually know a person who's in-laws attempted to do this very thing, in real life. Their argument, the mom would have to work and leave the boys with babysitters, so they would be better off it a loving grandparent. Here we also have Gabriel's questionable past. Thank you.

Well, that's bloody scary, if you'll excuse my language. i'm a lawyer and where I come from, there has to be some compelling reasons for taking a kid away from its parent. :)))

The in-laws are just trying, we'll see how far they get. I doubt very far, but Katherine is scared they're even thinking about it.

Again, your writing and editing are great. I didn't see anything that stood out to me. I know, I am not the target audience for this type of novel. I do find it interesting to see how the other side sees things and how it relates to them though. It's like reading about a different species of humans in a parallel world.

Keep writing.

We are probably living in two different worlds. I do understand that. I saw your answer about listening to your wife's phone conversations. I can honestly promise you, I have never had a conversation anywhere close to that. LOL Thank you for the kind review.
