I'm kind of liking Joel as a private eye. Is that what you call them in Brittain? Anyway, he's saucy enough to be a danger to himself, but I've a feeling he can also take care of himself. The heavy you introduced allowed Joel to slip the card in his breast pocket. That was no small victory for our protag.

We tend to call them private investigators, but we see enough Hollywood movies to know what a private eye is. Glad you like it still. Thanks for the review

Great story! I can easily picture your scenes and your characters. Great descriptions, Bob. I love the way you describe the city of London as one of the characters in your story. I remember the first time I landed in the city of London, first time in 'the old world'. Everything was fascinating. Really enjoyable reading. More!

I love London as a city. It's so quirky. Delighted I no longer work there though. Thanks for the review

The writing is well crafted, formatted and presented. The characters are identifiable. The question I have is about the demons. Does the author refer to the demon drink, the demon behind a personality disorder, or dangerous unseen spirit creatures?
The story is a little dark and unsettling, albeit it skilfully written.
Thank you for sharing
Best wishes

Thanks for the review. The previous chapters make it clear that the demons are the supernatural variety.

Thanks for the update. It is labor intensive I know, but the author's notes space is very useful for those who have not had the privilege of reading all the prior chapters. Kindest regards 😊
