Yikes! "...the dank cellar of fetid dreams..." and "...sunshine shrinks as a drop of rain water on sizzling stone..." Now, author, that is how one turns a phrase, IMHO -- wow. Imagery! I can award this nothing less than six stars.

I've been a Lovecraft fan since childhood, as is Stephen King, and of course, many others. And you painted such vivid scenes and senses in your poem that maybe it's only moments before we are all imprisoned in time. Great job! Wish I had a six. Thanks for sharing.

Those creatures can be creepy and so frightening that just writing about them is enough to send shivers down your spine. The images don't necessarily stick with you after reading, but gives a creepy feeling while reading the way you have penned the free verse. Good luck in the contest!

Absolutely fantastic work here, Senyai. I always tend to prefer rhymed verse to free verse, but I love this work. It moves and flows so wonderfully, each line building upon the last and pushing the whole work forward. Great Cthulhu reference too, by the way. Interesting poem - so ethereal and non-physical. I looked up cthulhu but I saw later that you so kindly gave us the information about this creation of Lovecraft. I think you met the challenge well. My favorite lines were:
"My soul is soaked, sweating on the limb
of salvation, I am losing my footing about"
There seems to be a lot of yearning for clarity while currently "imprisoned in time."
