Hi there,
I found this a little disjointed and hopped about a little. It starts talking about those are writers and then those who want to be. It's also a lot more complicated than just having skill or talent. It's incredibly hard to get publishers to read your work. they're inundated with with millions of manuscripts.
It is no doubt writing takes a lot of hard work, skills, and talent- this would read better as there is no doubt rather than it...
You're a writer! If you are talented, and a creative writer, then you will be successful. - it also takes an incredible amount of luck!
All the best

I agree with you about being a novelist. Thank you!

Lots of great advice in your story. I have been writing for several years and have a passion for writing. There is one thing though, you have to have an imagination and no writer's block.

Very inspirational. You make good points--especially about the hard work and the business aspects. It is also true that writing is both satisfing and fun, sometimes.

Your contest entry is well written and uplifting, Mystery Author. You give readers good info about the business of writing--good job with the prompt. Your words flow smoothly with great positive encouragement. You stress how writers need to write everyday, true, and never give up--so true.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

The repetitions of these phrases like "study hard and keep at it" "Writing is hard work, you must keep working at it" "Work hard and practice" kind of create a circular pattern here, and we see the writer bent over that empty page and not really getting anywhere. It is like a symbolism of writer's block, in many ways. There's the perseverance, the desire to get somewhere, and the lack of results. estory

This contest entry is a great cheerleader for author's wanting to get into the writing profession. It is hard work and one must have think skin and believe in their writing. That's one long run-on sentence. LOL thank you for sharing and good luck.

This would make for a good pep talk to people who are persistently insecure and need constant reinforcement to keep at it, given the promise that their fantasy of ultimate success as a published author will come true.

Dear Mystery Writer,
I agree with much of what you say here, but I was surprised to see so many mistakes. Especially since you yourself stressed the need to edit yourself so diligently.
I've made some notes for you below - you are certainly welcome to use what you like (if anything) and toss the rest.
1.) No(t) all novelists have talent.
2.) You do have to take creative writing classes in colleges and universities.
--> This is not really true - it's not a requirement to write and I bet there are tons of very popular and successful writers who never went to college
3.) Build character developments. Be original in your writing.
--> Develop your characters and always be original.
4.) In manuscripts, there will be most typos, and grammar errors. Always self-edit your works.
--> In most manuscripts, typos, and mistakes in grammar will slip in, so always edit your work.
5.) To write fiction books, nonfiction books, and (poetry), you need to work hard and practice your writing.
--> Whether you write fiction, nonfiction, or poetry, you must work hard and practice.
6.) All you need for it is passion to write any fiction genre.
--> All you need is passion.
Thanks and good luck - hope this will help!
