Yes, often time passes us by, as well as the younger generation.
You're like a founding father, without you, they don't exist.
Nicely rhymed with exact and slant rhyme, and very good meter as well.
And you write excellent poetry.

called the circle of life...when the kids grow up...they tend to go their own ways...but I thought about...and I have to say...when I was younger...I pulled away to go do my own thing...
when I got older is when I realized...I had a family...
just pick up your pen and keep writing...we are here for you my sweet friend...

I watched this with my mother. As she got older, it seemed she was left out of conversions. I try very hard not to ignore my older friends but now I find I am one of them and I feel like Mrs cellophane.

I you're right. There's an old saying, "if you haven't anything good to say, don't say anything" and it would have to be the same about writing as well. I can't write something starting with something downbeat, but always finish with an upbeat finish, beautifully written my friend, good theme, blessings Roy

What you say is so true! The younger generation have no time or patience as they scurry here and there from place to place we are invisible to them or think so.Well done you friend.

Yes. We don't have many years left on this earth. So, it is best not to worry about other's attitudes. We should enjoy life, do things that we are good at and be happy and contended. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Yup, keep writing poetry. It is a good pastime and when we write we stay out of trouble. At least until they read what we write in a poem. I find that the words can be put on paper that heals our mind. Good psychology!

I think the young are so wrapped up in themselves they forget to smell the roses
