I suppose it is nature's way that the young reject the old, not realizing that seniors possess so much important knowledge from " being there and doing that" --I hope you are being somewhat rhetorical--because certainly those of us who enjoy your poetry are inspired by your wisdom.

Oh, poetry is a great escape from reality and every day's hustle/bustle. Unfortunately, what you write about the young ones is the same story I heard so many times. I am sure, they don't mean to ignore, they are just "busy" with their younger and green lives.
Great imagery. Sorry you sound bitter, but you always have the cure - paper and quill! (smile).

The younger generation do not know what they are missing when they choose to ignore older ones who are a wealth of inspiration and information. Our memories are worth much more than what they are searching for on their electronic devices - and much more interesting! Keep on writing and share it with those of us who do care and want to hear more...

I wonder sometimes if they fear the older generation. We have done so much, been through so much, much more than they ever probably will. They know one day they will become us. Old, wrinkled and walking with a zimmer frame, or a walking stick. I wonder if it's the fear of growing old that has them ignoring us oldies. You carry on writing, Jay, you are in the biggest oldies writing club in the world, and we treasure your wise poems! Keep it up, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Yes! You just keep writing your poetry because we all enjoy it. The younger family members don't realize what a treasure trove they have in the older folks. They won't realize that until they're older. Besides it seems this generation hasn't been taught the respect and importance of the older relatives. What a shame. Someday they'll realize it when it's too late.
