My prayers go out to you, Joanne. It is terrible to have stage 4 pancreatic cancer or in fact any type of cancer. Your words came straight from your heart and soul. I know you and your family will miss him dearly but be kind and let him go. Give everyone the chance to say goodbye, even if they can't say the words. Blessings and prayers.

Joanne, this is beautiful. I am sure the Lord heard every one of your words. Though you cannot see Him sitting right beside you, His presence is there, and He cares for the burden you are carrying. Just trust Him to do what is best for your brother and for your family. I pray that comfort and peace will surround you.

Oh I am so sorry for this family tragedy! Brave are all souls who battle against his most stalwart of cancers! I sense the faith, intensely---and still the ambiguity--for even when we know our loved one will be out of pain and in God's loving arms we oh so truthfully want more time to love them and be with them here on earth. I read Robyn's lovely poem about what you are all facing. I had to come here and read first, before commenting there! May the Lord bless and keep you all in the palm of His hand... My prayers are with your brother and with all of you!--Karenina

Hello, Joanne

First and foremost, my heart goes out to you and your family as you face one of the most painful and terrifying times of your lives. Watching a loved one is pain and knowing there is nothing you can do but be there is more than heartbreaking; it's pure devastation to your beliefs and needs.

I've been there more times than I ever want to think about. My family, my children, grandchild, husband and parents all were chosen to leave this earth before me. I was the caregiver... the role given to my by our Lord. It's not an easy task or a pretty one. Your heart shatters with each struggling breathe your loved one takes.

I do want to say your pray to the Lord was exceptional. Baring your soul and asking for his help is awesome. I know he is there by your side, so lean on him, let him help you face these difficult times. Only the Lord knows the future.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that you find the strength and the love to face the days ahead. My heart goes out to you.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I know it's tough because I have been there, but if God's decision is to take him home...it will be the right one. Not for us, but for your brother.

Joanne,

This is such a beautiful prayer-poem. It is clearly from the heart and filled with both praise - for a God you know is able to do all things, and acceptance of His final decisions - as we finally must, in the end.

I am so sorry to have to watch YOU suffer as HE suffers. Praying!

Notes:
1.) Lord I know (you're) beside me

2.) I would say Lord will you help lift my (family's) burden

3.) Giving support to my brother(')s son and his wife

4.) We have to accept it as God(')s plan.

5.) (You're) our master and creator.

6.) There are a couple of places with an upper-cased word in the middle of the sentence - as if you were editing.

7.) There are also several places where I might consider capping the references to deity.

I really enjoyed this. Thank you!

You haven t just strung words together but created them meaningfully to communicate so readily with the reader.
