Lord I know you are beside me
by Joanne Gill

I'm sorry for the sad health challenge your brother has. It's hard for him and all your family. Writing about it helps. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

First of all I am so sorry that you're going through that! I lost my niece to brain cancer, my stepmom to breast cancer, and our youth pastor from esophagus, and stomach cancer, and one of our dear friends from pancreatic cancer as well. It's so hard when we so desperately want to trust and have faith during those moments for our loved ones to be healed so that God can get the glory and then they go to heaven which is not a bad place to be and we don't want them suffering anymore. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Beautifully tearful. I felt the pain the writer is experiencing. As a Christian, I know that better days will be ahead-after the end. Nice job and if this is a relative in real life, my prayers go to the family.

I am so sorry about your brother. Pancreatic cancer is a tough one and is often inoperable. Our friend's husband had it.

I will pray for him every day. I'll pray that he is free of pain, and that the suffering would be easier.

A beautiful poem of faith in hope. We are all joining in the prayers.

Love, EM

Hi Joanne,
Sending my love, care and support from Australia. My brother had cancer too, inoperable, but then he had two massive strokes within a fortnight and passed away on July 1.
May the Lord Jesus bring you strength and comfort each day. He is not only right beside you, but within, and He is the Comforter. Blessings and hugs.
Wendy

I love your beautiful attitude of faith to pray for healing but also release to God's will. I pray that the Lord will do a miracle for your brother. I'm in the same situation as my brother is metastatic prostate cancer. We have a God Who can do the impossible!

I join you in your prayers, dear one. Love your brother and smother him in embraces that speak volumes. I am sad for you will pray every day for God's decision. I know somewhere in time is a land where all of us will be healed and run in joy.

This lovely, moving poem really resonates with me. Last year, I lost my only brother to cancer; two weeks later, his wife, who was like a sister to me, died. Our prayers were much like yours!
