This is a good poetic description of a forest at night. I like the allusion of tree rings that show age as a metaphor for eternity.

beautifully penned poem accompanied by an equally beautiful pic. Yes. I have visited Muir Park in SF a couple of years ago and was amazed to see the rings of time! I also happened to read the explanations displayed there but can't recollect any. I have the pictures to take me back to those days! Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

The sentiment regarding the trees and the growth rings is rather deep and beautifully portrayed. Their silence beneath the stars is well noted.
The tribute to e.e.cummings is a well-received rendering.

A beautiful poem filled with rich imagery. Trees "breath silent" is lovely as is "each massive trunk a pall- bearer's gown". Original and creative, and perfectly sets the mood and quiet tone. Very well done.
