Why is it we never know what it was that wakened us? Perhaps it's good that we don't know!! I enjoyed this one, too, dear SATP, you're certainly on a roll. This is a bit of a creepy one, though, I just hope nothing wakes me tonight! Lol. Well done, my dear sister. Now I'm off to bed. :)) Sandra xxx

Sometimes, ghosties and ghoulies just roam about, don't they? Oh, well, as long as they don't both us. Sleep well, dearest sister.

Beautifully crafted poem, Yvonne. I often wonder what wakes me from sleep, and while I rarely imagine the worst, it is often very hard to regain my peaceful slumber. Just recently a startling nightmare suddenly woke me, and of course, I was left clueless as to its contents. The semi-repetitive nature of the format is much more comforting than the reality of what your poem describes! The picture is great.

Thank you. If I have nightmares, thankfully I never remember them. Usually, whatever noise awakens me, I can credit the cat with it. lol

You're very welcome, Yvonne. Having a pet is very comforting and fun. I enjoyed having our dog, Spiffy, and she was a very big help when I was single. Sometimes I would wake up to her persistent stare, which meant she wanted to be taken out!
God bless you, and the cat.
    Love, Mary Kay xoxo

I love how you realized the old sing song child's prayer,
"Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep if I should die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take"

I enjoyed this thoroughly even though it was a little bit repetitive, but I sure enjoyed learning something new about a new form of poetry.

Blessings,

Brother Badger Cull

You did a wonderful job with this new form. I truly wish I had a six to offer you, but they are all gone til tomorrow. I enjoyed every line, but especially the refrain. Well done, Yvonne.

Loss of sleep can be a little horrendous Yvonne, although it's never really been a problem with me, I woke this morning at 3:30, after only 4 1/2 hours, not enough, so what did I do? Sign in! A beautifully written,, it looks more like a quatern to me, with the progressive first line, well done, but nicely done, blessings Roy

Thank you. I frequently wake up in the wee hours, too, and also sign on FS. lol. What did we do before we had it?

Very nice. A good rhyme with a valid sentiment. So many times there is something that awakens us that we never discover. We all experience the same things. LOL
