A fine and thoughtful poem to a friend. I didn't know Bob and am not familiar with his writings, however; knowing you through your poems, I know how heart felt your writing is. To have someone think so much of another is, to say the least, heart warming.

Astounding tribute piece. Brilliant poetry--you nailed Bob insofar as all I hear tell of his talent and of what I've read for myself--some chapters of his novel. Excellent!

I've never seen his photo that large before and it nearly brought tears to my eyes. This is a wonderful tribute to a Marine and a gentleman. I also read your heartwarming author notes. Blessings, Roy.

I knew Bob had a surgery of amputation due diabetes. Is he Okay? Why did you say "RIP Bob"? Did he pass away?

Alright. SO here's the deal... I want to review but cannot type for myself right now. Hence the stall to cut down on the 150 characters my poor besotted daughter would have to transcribe for me in order for me to comment.... (Am I there yes?) Probably... Hey! This is a lovely and heartfelt tribute to a fine man with an uncanny skill for writing... He will be sorely missed by all who followed him My prayers go out to his wife his family and friends... How very kind of you to remember him in this way!

Bob was a great person, a great guru, and always encouraged me to do my best. I hope he is in a good place now and looking at us. This is a wonderful tribute. Saying goodbye is never easy. RIP Bob!

Bless you, Roy, for such an awesome tribute. I'm sure it will mean a lot to his widow and all his friends here. I too followed his autobiography here. It was written with love and a lot of pain, as well. Hopefully, your poem will excite some writers to dig into his portfolio.

A well written poem. Though I don't know the man, the tribute is moving. Simple couplets seem a perfect form for this type of poem. The flow and words seem appropriate to a tribute.
