Very interesting way of retelling the old tale. I have always found that story odd. I get that it has been told and retold, passed down and reinterpreted a zillion times. I do wish I knew what the original story was like. Oh, well, I guess we will never know.

Well done.

The story may be old but it holds the truth of who and why we are. The metaphoric apple stands for the temptations we are faced with each day and the story reminds us of the consequences of our actions and why we should not bow to temptation.

I like your use of a straightforward, direct and short poem to tell the story of Adam and Eve and to the future that is our immutable destiny. Well done.

I always wish that more people understood that the apple was not from the tree of knowledge, but from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. That's the most important part of the story. Too often the tale ends with knowledges, implying humans were never meant to know anything.

That is because when it comes to the Bible and bible knowledge, too many of us are sadly lacking.

    I have to agree. Children
used to learn to read from the Bible. We do well to return to that practice.

Do not have a six left, but this deserved one! Yes, a story as old as time, but so many lessons here, if one reads the lines, between the lines and then even beyond the lines!
Satan, ever jealous of God, assumes many guises to deceive us, often sneaking up on us even though we think we are on guard.

How right you are. When we think we are on top of things is when we are relaxed and most vulnerable to attack.

Yes, even though Adam and Eve were deceived and tempted by the devil, God had already put in place His master plan, that He Himself would come as flesh, born of a virgin, die so that Adam and Eve could be redeemed. This is beautifully written my friend, God has always been in control, and the battle was and is already won. Well done, skilfully written and presented Bro, well done, blessings Roy

Not only do we have an instruction book, The Bible, we have a direct line to God through prayer and we still as God's children choose not not pay attention. I don't get it. Thank you for sharing this poem and true, we need to hear this story over an over again.

I enjoyed your poetic retelling of this important event. Your lines flow smoothly with good rhymes and great imagery. You are right that many know this story. However, all do need to be reminded that there is evil everywhere and we must constantly be on guard and rely on our faith.
Respectfully, Jan

Very well-written and an important reminder not to be easily led. We need to keep our faith strong and recognize when temptation is leading us away from His teachings.
Good job in writing and your message.

Mary

This account is often referred to as 'The Fall'. It is after all one of the key points in the bible story, so you have no need for apology when retelling it.. What follows is only there because of this moment and paints an increasingly bleak picture of mankind developing to wards the ultimate nadir - nadir - the crucifixion that miraculously becomes the second great biblical moment moment, depicted in the miracle plays as the Harrowing of Hell, that is the counterbalance of the Fall - the Resurrection and ultimately Ascension
