Hello Ric,
MARVELOUS piece of Humor Fiction!
Lucid as well as perfectly matching the theme phraseology.
Captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end having live imagery, and spontaneity.
Description of persons, places, scenes and situations is particularly noteworthy.
The last three sentences depict the climax of this humorous episode.
SUPERB Indeed!

Thank you so much, RP, for the fantastic six-star review. But most of all, your kind and encouraging words that, as always, motivate me to keep striving to improve my craft. There is more truth in this story than I care to admit. But no, I didn't forget all three items, just the eggs. LOL. I can't thank you enough for the magnificent review that has made my week! I appreciate YOU!

The temperature already 87 blazing-hot degrees, and the stifling humidity at 80 before 10:30 in the morning.

This sentence is incomplete, The temperature was - or else it's like you were going to add something and then didn't - before 10:30 in the morning, I was already at peak sweat mode.

"Opened mouth, and inserted foot." This reads as dialogue, I would italicize instead. Also, I'd just go Open mouth, insert foot.

There were many more notes I could make but then I'd be writing my own story lol. I liked the gist of the tale. Good work and thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Hi Ric
I really enjoyed reading your 'a day in the life' story. How typical to forget the very things that you went shopping for. Great dialogue. Take care. Jen.

Thank you so much, Jen, for taking time to read my silly story. There is actually more truth in this story than I care to admit. Most of it. But no, I didn't forget all three things, just the eggs. I appreciate your kind and generous review!

I like your story. Don't we all forget especially when we're suffering in the heat and then hearing stories that are not true and everyone is alike. They love to talk and tell stories. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much, Eunice, for your extra-special six-star review. But most of all for your kind and encouraging words that keep an old hack like plugging alone writing. Like most fiction, there is more truth in this story than I care to admit. But no, I didn't forget all three things, just the eggs. LOL. I appreciate your fantastic review!

Great telling of the events and well written as I was interested from beginning to end. I have done the exact same thing so appreciated the 'humor' in it.

Thank you so much, Equestrik, for your kind words and generous review. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who forgets to pick up what I went for at the store. Luckily, I only forgot the eggs, not all three items. LOL. I appreciate your encouraging review. :-)

Hmm, good writing, but strange story. It is fiction but I can't imagine any of this actually happening. I think, perhaps it is a cultural difference. This amount of interaction and conversation with neighbors and people who know or care about your business, and at the store would never happen in Chicago. That makes it seem strange to me. But, I see others can relate. Perhaps that is nice a world. It is good to read about things like that.

Thank you so much, Lancellot, for your kind words, comments, and generous review. Actually, this is more truth than fiction, almost to the word. A frustrating morning. And I didn't forget everything, just the eggs. LOL. I've traveled the world for 50 years, keeping horses stabled in Los Angeles, New York, New Orleans, Miami, and Chicago, spending three or four days a month in each. There was a time when I couldn't wait to get to the Sheraton, which became the Midway Airport Motor Inn in Cicero, so I could party all over town. Yes, and many times had to fight my way out of some of the toughest areas. Now days, not so much. But mostly, I made a lot of friends and I've found that people aren't so much different anywhere in the world, they just treat people the way they are treated, unless they are afraid. Sorry about the novella. Thanks again, for reading!

Sure enjoyed your conversation to and from the store. Yep, the co-vid vaccine is a good thing to get so we can get the pandemic under control; keep writing your stories

Thank you so much, Rosemary, for your kind words and generous review. Yes, if we could get everyone to take the vaccine we could put this pandemic behind us. And, I wish there was a vaccine for gossipers. LOL. I appreciate your time and encouragement!

This is a nice lighthearted post illustrating how people around you can distract you from your chores. The ending is really great; a nice twist after all the turns of the piece, and I think all the gossip of the neighbors and the lady at the store, and the sisters, swirls around this guy on his mission to get bread milk and eggs and pulls him away from his focus. He's worrying more of what the people around him think of him than preparing for the storm. Nicely constructed and I liked the personality in the writing. estory

Oh, Ric, you always make me laugh too--guess I'm just like Lois. Enjoyed chuckling through this post. And, I agree with you about the anti-vaccine people. Nice serious touch in your great humor writing.

Thank you so much, Roof35, for your extra-special six-star review. But even without the stars, you make me smile whenever I see your smiling face or think about all of your stories that make me chuckle out loud in the store or bank, long after I've read them. People looking at me like I'm crazy. There is more truth in this story than I care to admit, like most of it. But no, I didn't forget all three items, just the eggs. LOL. I appreciate you catching some of the serious undertones, which few seldom do. You've made my week, and I appreciate YOU!

WOW, Ric! So this is daily life for you, eh? I have to say this is an interesting post. I have my own opinions about the vaccine - everyone does and if they don't want to take it, that is their own decision. But this is true: sometimes you go out to get one thing and you end up getting something completely different, lol. Very intriguing!!

Hello, A.J., and thank you so much for your extra-special six-star review. Yes, everyone seems to have their own opinions about the vaccine, and everything else. But, if we all thought the same way it would make for a dull world. LOL. Like most everything I write, this is just me having fun and being silly. Just hoping to put a smile on someone's face. It's always great to get your reviews and read what you think. You've made my week!

Aww, you're welcome Ric!! And yes, it would be a dull place, which is why God has created everyone to be unique. And also, I'm smiling, so you have fulfilled one of your hopes, LOL.
