I guess the decision was predictable against Cassidy Rotello, although it sounds like it's circumstantial to me. But really this is only the beginning of your well written novel Carol. You've done an excellent job in the writing of this episode, well done, blessings Roy,
Suggestion : Mason couldn't have staged "a better performance for this" audience...

Hi, Roy.. The beginning seems a bit rough with all the murders and such, but I promise there are some heart-felt and blessed moments just waiting for us to find them. Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope enjoy.... Smiles and hugs, Carol

Well, I'm confident that the right people Alyssa, and maybe Hank and his wife may investigate the true murderer. I'm guessing that Blake had something to do with it and he paid Sofia to give the false testimony.

I will begin at the end. What a great hook for the next chapter. One thing I like about your writing is that the side plots are strong. It makes me think to keep a number of threads in my head.

Thank you for all the effort and time you put into catching up on the story... I really appreciate it. I think life is never a straight line, and our lives mix and tangle with others, and that's how my stories go... thanks!

All signs point to a staged trial. It seems it was a foregone conclusion that Cassidy would be found guilty. It is surprising that the jury didn't deliberate longer. Everything sounds so ambiguous. I'm wondering what
the future holds.

Mason Caldwell is an evil man...He manipulates everyone to do what he wants done so his hands remain clean...But Garth is on the scene and that might change a few things. And Hank isn't even there yet!

How is our handsome mysterious cowboy going to prove Cassidy innocent. I am sure Mason Caldwell is as guilty as sin. I'm just not sure if he has anything to do with Jack's death. LOVE IT!!!

Mason Caldwell is a person to be watched in many different directions. He keeps his hands clean by manipulating others to do his work. Garth already has him under his radar and he doesn't even know that Hank will be there soon. Enough said!

Just another example of how our judicial system fails to get everything right. Oh, maybe I shouldn't just to conclusions . . . is she or isn't she really guilty is the question. Well, she is for now. Thanks for sharing.

No, she's not guilty by Mason Caldwell is a creep and a manipulator... If he can't buy what he wants...he finds another way. but good ole FBI Garth is already undercover watching him.

Wow! Two chapters in one day. I don't know how you keep up the pace. This chapter really builds the tension as we try to figure out how all this will be related. I'd be happier if we had seen a little bit of the defense's case. I think it follows the prosecutor's case, because there has to be something to defend against. Maybe some cross-examination of Sofia and implications of other potential perps. We don't even know how the poor woman died. It almost seems that you have really raced through just to get to the verdict necessary for the rest of the story.

she'd presented her case. -- Has she already presented her case?

Blake paused and glanced around the room, allowing his gaze to linger on the jurors. He orchestrated the tension in the room, building toward the crescendo. The spectators were sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting for the clash of the cymbals. -- Now THAT's the Carol I know.

Cassidy buried her face was in her hands. -- oops!

Or maybe a generous -- delete this first or. There's no antecedent for it.

gavel demanded she moved her attention ==> move

Cassidy collapsed into the chair and buried her face into her hands, -- buried her hands again? Suggest new language.

Mason wallowed a lump in his throat. LOL

I debated whether to put more of the trial in but there wasn't much I could add without showing she was being framed...I hoped with Alyssa telling Liz the trial was about to wrap up and where had she been it would cover the short snapshot...And yes... I just needed Cassidy to go to jail... "bad me".

I'm also kicking myself for not hitting save after I corrected a few of the things...Senility!!!

When I wrote the paragraph about Blake...I thought of you! I knew you would like it!

I deleted the face burying and left her sobbing.... just like me. LOL

I actually wrote Chapter 4 during the night when I couldn't sleep and started Chapter 5 early. Probably a little more sleep might have erased some of the brain fog.

I'll go through it again before I start another chapter and see if I can make things a little clearer... Thanks for all your suggestions. Great as usual.

That won't be the end of it, not if Hank and Garth are on the scene, and I'm thinking Alyssa, as well. Now she must see the Elizabeth stays safe, because I think she will be the next one to be targeted. Another amazing chapter, Carol. The court scene was so nail-biting even though we know that they would bring in a guilty verdict. How many of them were on the payroll??? Well done, my friend!! :)) Sandra xxx

Hurrah! I was hoping you would still be around... wasn't sure of your exact time except it would be evening.

You are right! Cassidy's trial will just be the beginning of her journey... She will become another key player but it's off to jail it seems. Elizabeth will have Alyssa and Hank to help her, but her life is in danger and possibly some other shocking news as well.

I am thrilled that the story is being enjoyed.. though I have few readers than the last one...hopefully it will pick up.

Thanks again. Have a wonderful evening.... Smiles and hugs, Carol
