I enjoyed reading your contest entry. I am pretty sure this doctor was inappropriate and should probably be reported. It did make for a good story thought. Good luck with the contest.
I sat down to fill out the paperwork that seemed to go on forever. (down is an extra word and can be omitted)

LOL! So you came out non the wiser as to what that lumpt was on your finger, yet you had a whole naked body search! I hope he was at least good looking!!! Lol. I enjoyed your story, almost as much as you must have had writing it. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you Sandra for your thoughtful and encouraging review. It was a ganglion cyst and was successfully removed. The doctor was cute. I almost renamed him, Dr. Mc Dreamy. :))))

Yeah, and if you weren't careful you might have signed a promise to pay for the service if Medicare doesn't. LOL
Which in reality means Medicare doesn't pay for it. Just saying...You can't even trust money grabbing hospitals or clinics anymore. This was fun and I enjoyed it. Good Luck in the contest. Nancy:)

Nice one! This reeks of a scam. Why didn't they tell you when you made the appointment regarding your finger that you would be Strip Searched?c
Now that Medicare covers seniors, they are stepping in to reap the benefits. Indeed, and then refer you to someone else. I find this outrageous!

Thank you Raff for your thoughtful review. I have had more referrals since joining the seniors ranks. Keeps us on our toes deciding which one are needed.

Laughing here. I so enjoyed this enchanting writing. I believe you hit the nail on the head also about today,s medical profession. IMHO so many doctors to do so little and adds much confusion. Blessings, Barbara

I love your well-written story. It has humor, some interesting facts about what to expect at a dermatologist check, and just good reading. Best wishes in the contest!

-I like the image for
your story, and you
wrote it well.
-Your topic was appropriate
because I recently had my
appt. with the dermatologist,
but I see a woman doctor and
it wasn't quite like your "strip search."
-I can also relate to your feelings
about the MRI!
-I also remember an elementary
teacher telling me about the
book thing on the hand; never did it, though!
-Thanks for sharing your story, and
it just goes to show some of us
have more in common than we think!
-Good luck in the contest.

You are welcome, Janet, and I think the longer we are on the site, the more that is true. Have a great weekend.

Lol! Oh my goodness! I think I'd want to avoid that dermatologist. Here we have to wait for months to see one but I don't think we are required to have full body scans annually! Hope your finger is okay. That book treatment was an old method to treat ganglion cysts but I think doctors would use a syringe to remove the fluid.
Best wishes in the contest!
Suggestion:
I arrived early at the dermatologist to (dermatologist's office)

Thank you for your thoughtful and encouraging review. It was a ganglion cyst. I added that to my notes after your review.
Thank you too for the suggestion. Much appreciated.

A Bible bump, hm? I think I would prefer the appointment with the hand surgeon, to being whacked on the hand with the Bible -- especially since I do most of my Bible reading with my cellphone. I love my Bible reading, and pray for miracles, but wouldn't subscribe to that particular line of miracle-working. You'd be likely to get yet another lump, or need another visit with an orthopedic surgeon.
And you have a generous dermatologist, who's willing to do a full body scan without an appointment. Mine insists on a special appointment for that, whereas specific issues like your finger lump are addressed separately. I think they just make more money that way!
I found a few errors:
I was not expecting the doctor to see me in my altogether today SINCE I CAME HERE TO HAVE MY FINGER EXAMINED.
-->
I was not expecting the doctor to see me in my underwear today SINCE I CAME HERE TO HAVE MY FINGER EXAMINED. [I'm not actually sure what you wanted to say, but I'm guessing]
Then I light went off somewhere in my brain ...
-->
Then a light went off somewhere in my brain ...
Inch by inch, leg by leg, armpit to armpit and beyond he searched.

"What, do you mean hand surgeon ...
-->
"What do you mean hand surgeon ...
"I do believe I've just had my first STRIP SEARCH".

You certainly had quite an adventure at the dermatologist's office. Not everyone can handle a "strip search" with such grace!
Great photo, by the way.

This is a really well-told story and one I heard recently from my husband, who came home after a strip search by a woman doctor when he asked her about a lump on his cheek. You think this is trending now? You told the story with more humor than my humiliated husband, who did have a precancerous nodule on his face and his back.

Maybe you're right, this is a new trend. I'm sure we need these things looked at, especially as we get older, but one should be made aware of searches. My doctor was young and very cute - still not going to go back to him. Hope your husband is ok.
