Dear poet.
This is an excellent tanka. I like your message.
I would imagine prejudice would be the absence of color. Or perhaps black or brown or grey.
You have the syllables correct, but I'm having a bit of trouble with your pivot line.
Poetry dances has a good explanation of how a tanka works.
Great entry for the color contest. Best wishes.

This is a clever and very creative write that asks a question with no answer but leaves the reader thinking.
Very well done.
Good luck in the contest.

Your tanka is excellent in every respect--skillfully composed, descriptive,
and thought-provoking. We use colors to symbolize some states of mind, but--as you say--not some really important ones!

Very interesting. There is no color when it comes to prejudice, hopefully. You bring a lot of insight with your words. Very well done.
It makes you stop and think, and I did.
This is a wonderful entry for the contest and I wish you lots of luck.

Wow! I like this thought-provoking tanka poem. Our emotions are often assigned colors but what about prejudice which seems to be affected by views of the color of one's skin. Best wishes in the contest!

Our Colors
Interesting tanka for the Color contest. Tanka is one of my favorites poetic forms. Good syllables count. The connection between lines and flow can be improved if you keep complete thoughts on each line.
What I mean...
Our color-coded
world of emotion portrays
our envy as green
while our rage is blinding red--
what hue is our prejudice?

I expect prejudice comes in many colours as we learn to hate for many reasons and we are all born with open minds and are indoctrinated by our piers and environment, a poignant write, love Dolly x

A very good Tanka making the reader think. It's true green is for envy and
red for rage but not many of us think of prejudice as an emotion as
strong as envy and rage. But, it can be especially now it seems to
be at the center of our world. I think prejudice is gray because it lacks
any luster or notice because it can be easily hidden. For that reason
it hasn't got the attention it needs. Good poem.

Hi Anon,
What a perfect poem highlighting the prejudice that can exit in groups of people or a person. I love the great twist you took to color the word and what comes to mind for this strong negative emotion.
A most lovely presentation with the bright joyfully colorful umbrellas that are in severe contrast to the image conveyed with such an undesirable word as prejudice.
Perhaps, prejudice would be colored a blackish yellow as in bile. Bitter and unpleasant.
Artfully written and beautifully presentation!
Good luck :-)
