This sad poem, Grief, reminds us that living is a blessing and that passing on is a part of that. Faith in God allows us to live well and not fear this eventuality.

The sting of death is overpowering!
This poem is contest compliant.
The visual presentation is attractive.
The format, layout, rhythm and rhyming schemes are compliant.
There is hope for all mentioned in the Bible. It is the hope of the resurrection (John 5:28, 29). For more information about God's promise I find www.jw.org the best website It is all free and does not impose an obligation
Best wishes for the contest

I hope you are reconciled by now. It is wondrous how the memories that come back to us are generally the happiest ones. May they comfort you. Kindest regards

A very poignant poem. You have written a very moving verse that captures the angst and deep emotion that this sad tale conveys. Well balanced and well written. I wish you luck in the contest.

I definitely agree that people deal with grief in so many different ways. Depends on who it was that passed away and what the relationship was to you. It depends on if they lived a long satisfying life or fought an illness and wanted to stay alive. If they were young or old, or if it was sudden. I know that my step mom passed away of breast cancer messed with my dad and my brothers face. It definitely did not build their faith as they were Christians and more or less rocked their faith to the core. I am sorry for your loss. XOXO thanks for sharing

Thanks for your comments. I wrote the poem after my step daughter's dog Bella, passed away. She loved me and this was like part of my family too.
