This is a lovely remembrance of a true friend and companion. Dogs truly seem to understand more than we give them credit for. They have a great capacity for love without blame and selfless support without shaming you.

Thanks for taking time off to read and review my wee poem.
Yes dogs have big hearts and are always ready to give a helping paw.
They can sense when we are sad , depressed and they snuggle up
.. they make us feel needed and important
When they die they leave a void which we , in time, fill with all the happy memories made over the years with them

Great post explaining dogs are not just dogs. I lost my boy of 16 yrs and I still have a hole in my heart. Looking after ageing parents is a full-time- job, very wearing physically and emotionally. Dogs and cats understand us better than we do them. Well done. K XX

Shadow was a ray of sunshine in Lucia s life.
Caring for her parents is tough and it has taken a toll on her well-being but Shadow had a special gift in making her feel better.

At night now her bed is empty ..she misses his warm presence.
